This morning I got super lucky and got 2 sea ponies and I just got another one as well. However, I have no intentions to gmt any of my horses yet so therefore I'd rather like the money to expand my barns.

They're up for 110k so less than what it costs to buy a GMT token with hbs. (And if you auction/sell the horse you'll only pay 107.500 hbs for a GMT token, that's almost 20k off!
