Breed changing is here for premium members
-
A few weeks ago I added the ability for you to create new breeds and to create horses with those breeds. Now you can update the breeds of horses you already own.
Some rules you should know about:
-You can change the breed of any horse you have created or bred.
-You can change the breed of any horse you have purchased if it is a National bred horse.
-No one can erase your breed off your horses if you sell them.
-Horses with the University breed have it for a good reason. You can not change the University breed.
-You must have finished setting up your breed to use it. (Must have a name and bone weight if not your primary breed)
-You can not change the breed of a horse with offspring, HOWEVER for the month of April and May this is waived. This rule does not apply until June 1st.
-If you have a default tattoo set for the breed, it will be applied when you change the breed and you will be charged 25hbs. It will not add the tattoo more than once.
There are two ways to change your horse's breed. You can do so via the control panel on their page, or you can do a bulk edit from the barn page.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

All good info!
What happens if your premium runs out? -
The breeds stay but you will have to have your upgrade active to make any changes.Need to contact me? Read this first.

This is neat. In the following futurie situation, how does changing breed names work?
Foal of mine with correct breed.
Summers Wicked Mountain
Foal of mine with my breed, because it was made before the breed was made. (Correct weight, same sire)
Summers Wicked Spree
Is it possible for me to make the bottom foal a bluemesaorginal? I can’t sell it to bluemesa to do it, because then they’d have owned the foal, and it wouldn’t count for futuries.

Did you post the wrong link? I don't understand what you are asking. You own both those horses? I am confused.
At this time the "can never have owned rule" only applies to stallions, not their offspring when calculating futurity standings.Need to contact me? Read this first.

I do own both of them! But one has the breed of bluemesaoriginal and one is summerisle. I assume there is no way for me to make that older foal a bluemesaorginial?
(Separately, the can own foals thing seems like a loophole. I could just ask people to breed foals for me and then buy those foals from them to “win” the futurity standings? ) -
You do not own the bluemesaorginial breed so no. You can not set horses to other people's breeds.
That does not work. You can not OWN a foal from your stallion and have it qualify for the futurity. The rules are laid out on the page.
"To qualify for the futurity a stallion must have at least 10 offspring bred and owned by players other than the owner of the stallion."Need to contact me? Read this first.

I was able to change this horses breed as it was "National" however I made a mistake and the new breed is meant to be Ludoviod. Is there a way it can get fixed? It is now telling me I can't change the breed. I own both Ludovoid and Zeitgeist

Sorry no. As I said in the change log
"Be careful editing the breed of outside-created horses as once you set the breed it will be fixed since they will no longer be 'National' bred."
Since you are not the breeder of the horse and it is not a National breed you can not change the breed name. I understand that is frustrating but I don't have a good way to make sure you are not erasing someone else's breed.Need to contact me? Read this first.

That's OK, thanks Ammit! I've been more cautious since it happened so I chalk it up to a learning experience :) It's still my breed so no worries

Thankfully for your homebreds you can change the breed as many times as you want.Need to contact me? Read this first.
