how far negative can they go as a score?

Don't forget that you are showing a foal. They don't train and as they can only enter the 1L classes, where only two horses compete against each other, the result is just a coin toss every time. The PT score of this horse is a reasonable 9.6 so once it turns 2 and starts to train the show scores will improve and no longer be negative. Although, as Ammit pointed out, as the horse is inconsistent it will still have a wide range of scores. :)

I like to think that the foals with negative show score try to eat the potted plants in the ring or something, but aren't quite badly behaved enough to get DQed. So the judge just makes sure they come in dead last, ha ha.
