GMT Help
-
Hi, I won a gene prize in Ammit’s contest, but have realized that I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to GMT work. I want to get a copy of Jewelbox put on one of my ponies, but I have some questions that I was hoping that the forum could help me out with.
I was originally planning on putting the gene on this on this colt, but he does not have the big tabino patches that would show off the Jewelbox gene.
WG Shinning Jem
I was wondering if there is anything that I could GMT to make tabino patches appear. I am okay with spending some GMT tokens the colt that I choose to put the gene on.
I have an Expro Tabino colt, and I love his tabino markings. These are the kind of tabino markings that I would like. The only problem is that I don’t really love his chestnut color and I don’t know how the W20 would interact with the Jewelbox.
WG Outside the Box
I also have this tabino colt that is a color that I like, but does not have the big Tabino patches that I am looking for.
WG GMT Possibly
I don’t know if there is a way that I could change the size of the patches on the Inami colt or the bay colt, or if I could change the color and figure out the W20 on the chestnut colt. Which colt would you recommend GMTing/putting Jewelbox on? Any advice is appreciated! I just have no idea how all of this GMT stuff works :) -
My limited experience is that you can reroll the seed of a horse (100 hbs vs 1 iv). And you could end up with the "patches/spots" you're wanting. It's what I would try....
You can use gmts to modify the horses white factor, which also may or may not cause the look you want.
You could also search Tobi's and look at their white factors vs the white genes they carry and get a better understanding of what you're wanting to achieve.
Ultimately I think it's mostly random -
That is incorrect. Tobiano white amounts are based on the white factor listed in the gene testing. I would look at Jewlbox examples already in the game to decide how much white you want though. It will show even with out lots of tobi white showing.Need to contact me? Read this first.

Ammit is good to point out that the jewel box will increase the amount of white that appears. This stud had very minimal white spots from his tobiano prior to adding any new genes. When I added the jewel box to him the amount of white increased by quite a bit.

Thanks for all of the advice! This has helped clarify things for me :)
