You gals have wanted random giving back for ages but my health did not allow me to get the programming hours in to make it happen. I am very pleased to have the first iteration of this new addition to the game out.

What is Random Acts of Giving?
RAofG will be open in June and December of each year.

Who gets to give gifts?
You must have qualified for level 2 or 3 of the gift exchange to give gifts. I want to make sure that those who are giving understand how the gift exchange works, are established community members with a clear grasp of the game, and will give nice gifts. I was worried about people sending just random nonsense because they did not really understand what the RAoG page was or was for.

Who receives gifts?
Anyone who submits a wishlist and makes less than 250k weekly showing bonus can receive gifts. This number might be adjusted in the future but I was worried about there not being enough people to give to. You can submit a wishlist by signing up for the gift exchange at any level, OR by submitting just a wishlist on the RAoG page. (To prevent cheating, associated accounts will never be assigned to one another.)

Is my person reserved?
Lots of people can have the same recipient at the same time. That way if get an assignment and something comes up you don't have to feel bad. You did not stop them from getting gifts.

How many assignments can I have?
As many as you want. Don't vibe with someone's wish list? Get a new assignment. Want to send 10,000 hbs to every single person who qualified? No problem just keep getting new assignments. Want to only give to tiny newbie accounts? No problem just keep getting new assignments until you find someone you want to gift to.

GE updates sneak peak:
RAoG is also using the new straw/egg, horsebuck, and updated horse-giving features. You can look forward to using these in the gift exchange as well. Not only can you send items right on the GE page, it will keep track of these, displaying what has been sent, and create a chat message alerting the recipient that they were sent something.

Send something outside the RAoG page? No problem, just let the person know you sent it in the message window.

Bug Notes: Over the past several weeks I have done mountains of updates to the gift exchange and created Random Acts of Giving. I have done my best effort to make sure things are bug-free but it is difficult for me to try out all possible situations. If something seems off please let me know right away.

Do I need to keep track of what I give, like with the GE?

Anything not tracked automatically you need to record in the message window so they know they were sent something. You do not need to track for your own records.

There was a little bit of wonkiness with the new gift message alerts and chat room level viewing. I think I have that ironed out now but let me know if it acts up. :)

Im kinda busy this year, so i didnt get a chance to sign up for the gift exchange or the RAoG but I am going to send some gifts to others. :) thank you for the opportunity for us to gift to others.

How can we thank our random gifters without knowing who they are? Three new horses in the barn today are wonderful! I don't know if they are from three different Random gift givers, or all from the same one. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Whoever you are :D

It would be cool if we could enter the player number of a player and then send them gifts. I’ve cycled through the random act of giving list and fulfilled what I could. But I see other people talking about wanting things I have— it would be neat to be able to gift those things.

That would open up great of a loophole for cheating. You can also just send gifts. You don't have to have it facilitated by the game. :)

So as far as I'm aware, I received this horse through RAoG and I assume it's a bug consider all the other RAoG ponies I've gotten have been hidden.

It's because the person regifted a horse they were given in the exchange in the past.

Rolled out some updates this morning. Horses that are regifted again in the exchange are hiding their sender info. The chat links for RAoG receivers and senders are now showing up.

If you sent something in the RAoG you can now see all those past interactions.
If you are able to receive you now have a link to see that chat window.

Also, the RAoG page was not showing all gifters, all gifts received by a person. That is now corrected.

Is it possible to see giftees I haven’t gifted to? I spent last night sending gifts and now I can’t find new people with things that I can give (I don’t have any 12 point drafts or fantasy.) I’d like to give some more but my new assignment button just gives me the same people. Can I level up to people who don’t normally qualify or can I find gift lists I haven’t seen before?

I promise I’ve hit the reassign button many many times.

No. If you did not send them a message or a gift they won't show.

There is a limit to the extremes of circumstance it is reasonable to expect me to program for. :)

I looked it up and there are 45 members on mesa entered into RAoG you can gift too. :)
