Festive fun
  • So... now it's technically the run up to Christmas, which activities are you all looking forward to the most this season?Personally, I've got a list as long as my arm of festive baking I want to do, but would love to add to it if anyone has any recommendations.
    Thanks!

  • I want to make wreaths, and I've been buying supplies to get that project started. I have tons of beautiful ribbon. Some years, we've made 3 different kinds of fudge to give to family and friends. It is always great fun getting together to cook.

  • We have a litter of puppies who will be ready for new homes around Christmas. While my family doesn't celebrate the holiday, we are still doing some activities with friends, but I have a LOT of work to do with the puppies! We raise them on a curriculum that was developed by a service dog trainer, and I'm excited for each of them to be prepared to meet their families!

  • I've just finished knitting a Christmas stocking for my youngest grandchild to hang up on Christmas Eve. I will be doing some baking during the week leading up to Christmas. Money is a bit tight this year and I still haven't bought all the presents yet. A real Christmas tree is on order and will be delivered about 10 days before Christmas. I'm looking forward to having the family together on Boxing Day, and then we'll have two family dinners in January to lump together several birthdays! :)

  • I'm trying to prioritize resting and hibernating this year. I have some knitting and fiber projects I want to work on and some video games I'd like to explore! I'm trying to keep gatherings with friends and family simple too - game nights and attending holiday craft markets over big festive occasions. My partner and I just moved in together a few months ago, so we both picked out some wall art from small creators as holiday presents to make our apartment a pretty place to hibernate :)

@Walywoohoo I'd love to hear more about that puppy curriculum! Does it continue after the puppies are picked up at 8-10 weeks? I just lost my childhood dog a month ago and we called him a therapy dog without the training because he always checked in on people when they were feeling down! I'm not ready for a new buddy yet but I'm in the dreaming stage and would love to raise a puppy like this.

  • I'm excited to get my Christmas tree and decorations up. This is my first year owning a house, so I also get to decorate the outside of the house too; I am just so excited!

  • Winter break from school. Need a break from my chaos family aka my classroom.
  • I'm looking forward to AFTER the holidays. I am the executive director of a rabbit rescue (We now actually do guinea pigs, rabbits, rats and hamsters). The lead up to the holidays are filled with a ton of education and encouraging people NOT to take home small animals over the holidays mixed with a few adoptions. So once the holidays are over we generally take a few days to ourselves to rest before starting over for the next year.
