Thank you, Ammit, for this game.
  • I just won 250k in the creation lottery. This game consistently gives me little boosts of happiness and excitement, and I can’t thank you enough for that. They’re sorely needed in my life right now.

I would never have thought, when I idly tapped a Pinterest ad for a game about horse genetics (of all things), that it would lead to something that brings me consistent, simple joy.

    Thank you.
  • Have you thought about going back to Pinterest and sharing some of your joy to other folks over there? :) You could put up a picture of your favorite horse and comment about how cool it is!

  • Ditto. (But for me it was a Facebook ad.)

The builders/mods have a brilliant blend of educational ability, understanding of gamification, and desire to maintain an excellent community.

I often cannot believe anyone made me love spreadsheets and punnet squares this much. Thank you.
  • Hard agree. I think what sets it apart from many other online horse games I have played is that it does not feel “pay to win” and you can tell how much care and thought is put into it. Thank you so much to all who keep this place running and to those who get out there and make this such a welcoming environment :)
  • I've learned a lot from this game already. It's definitely a keeper for me. Great game, educational, and the best online community I've ever encountered. @Ammit you are doing an awesome job.
  • I found the game through a reddit post, I believe. A very old one, that I came across while searching for "horse games" after pre-ordering a very disappointing Switch title. It's not a video game like I had been looking for, but it's a lot like the old pet sites I played as a kid, except with a robust genetics system and a wonderful, mature, and kind community of like-minded adults. Very pleased to be here! And happy to support a game that is welcoming to new users, and really doesn't feel "pay to play" or "pay to win," which is so rare to find. Thank you to everyone who made the game, and helped cultivate a lovely community!

  • It's been really important to me from day one to make sure the game is 100% successible at without paying real money. I tend to make things that save you time or give you "glamour" items like fantasy genes be the only things that require USD. Even then lots of poeple just pay others in hbs for those things.

I am really glad that feeling comes across to members. It can be a tough balance to both make sure a game is profitable without making that feel gross and exploitative.

  • The fact that you keep that balance makes me actually want to spend real life money on it haha
  • I am never a "free" game spender but I have spent enough on this one to buy several AAA game titles on release. It never gets old and the closer to my goals I get the more I discover and the bigger my goals get. I started playing to learn more about genetics but fell in love with the game itself! <3
  • It's honestly the community that makes a game worth coming back to. I have played my fair share of horse games, of which a Google search led me here, that may be excellent mechanics wise, but when the players are absolutely welcoming and cheering you on for whatever successes you have, it makes you want to stay and be as helpful to the next person that was once in your shoes. You want them to be able to see how great a game is by showing that any questions you have, WILL be answered.

I had played this game years ago, but my younger brain didn't really understand the genetics aspect to it, so I didn't really get into playing it. It wasn't until just recently that I found this game again, and now that I'm older, can understand it a lot more.

Summer sums it up perfectly - this game made me fall in love with horse genetics, punnet squares and spreadsheets, to the point where I want to make it fancy with unnecessary pictures, knowing I will continue to use and upgrade it as I go lol.

Sorry for the long post, but I think this is what everyone's trying to get at, Ammit. When you care more about the community than making it profitable, THAT'S what makes it a great game. And we continue to see that in every update and I will get to see it first-hand in December's gift exchange.

Let me end it here by saying a huge thank you, Ammit and everyone else behind the scenes for making my love of horses and biology into a reality. My utmost respect goes to you! =D> :x

  • I can't remember where I found the game, whether it be Instagram or a Google ad of some sort, but I liked the thought of a game that I don't have to do much, so when I get busy, it doesn't affect the game. So I can play the game and stop. I absolutely love genetics and playing around with mixing them and seeing what you get. I have no problem spending money on this game cause it's something that I enjoy playing and happily support. Thanks Ammit for all you do. It's kept my attention and likely will continue to keep my attention. Even in the most busiest of times.
  • The flip of that— I log in every day and most of the time there is something to do or some reward. June and December are my favorite but all the time the game owners are working out ways to keep up engagement. The amount of effort and thought put into this is spectacular.
  • As a very busy adult, I absolutely love this game! I love that it is designed to be able to play every day or once a month based on how your life is going, and I really appreciate that you don't have to spend real USD to participate! Similarly to many of the other people on this thread, I can't believe one Facebook ad has brought me so much joy!
