Candy Cane Horses (Should be Candy Corn)
  • I won a Candy Cane horse yesterday. (Very excited!) This morning I created 74 horses and after looking through them several times, there are no Candy Canes. Another person created 36 horses today, with the same result. Could there be a glitch this morning, or are we missing something? Thanks for your help.

  • It is one per account per day. You would have to link to the candy corn (not cane) horse you created for me to say if you created it to recently to have another yet. I also can't say about any one else with out know who they are.

I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

  • I looked in the DB and there is no flag stopping you from getting a candy horse today, also 11 have already been created today so it is working correctly. Here is one I created on about my 11th create today. A lot of people mix up that you have a 5% chance of getting a candy pony every time you create a horse. That does not mean you get one on your 20th horse created every day.

  • I always recommend checking this link instead of searching manually. The candy corns can be easy to miss!

  • I always assume I am doing something incorrectly, because most databases are rock solid.

The Candy Corn I created yesterday, was shared in the General Chat: (Oct 1 12:15 pm) ChapelHillFarm: Got one! https://mesa.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=1578772.

I was thinking it would be a Candy Corn per day and would happen at rollover. Maybe not?

Thanks, LadyHawke, I did check the link. That is a great tip. I have one thus far. Excited about the event and will do my very best to get all 31 of those precious ponies!

PS - I will create 20 more this afternoon and see if that works, since it was 12:15 pm when I got the other one.

Again, thanks for the events. We do LOVE them. :D

  • Sounds like you were making them before it reset for the day. I don't even know what time it happens. We spread out those updates to make sure rollover does not crash.

The person who said in the chat that they had not gotten one had already gotten one today and not noticed. :)

  • I found a Candy Corn in the auction and bought it. Before the auction close the horse had the standard this horse can be turned in for a GMT text on it. When it ended up in my primary barn, it no longer seems to have a linked GMT. I’m unsure why?

  • Because they turned it in. It is basically guaranteed that they will be turned in. That is why no one else was bidding. :)

  • Thanks for the explanation!
  • So, if someone were to auction a Candy Corn, and had people bidding up to say 100k, they could right before the auction ends collect the GMT and get the bid, leaving the bidder with just the horse? (Not that I think anyone would intentionally do that.) But is that what happened to Summer?

I have won Candy horses before from auction and they still had a GMT to be claimed. So, it's not unheard of grabbing one out of the auction without too many people bidding. Maybe Luck, but still. I also make sure I see the big text saying this is a candy pony before slapping that bid button and not going off image. I always try to regen the image after I claim it so no one gets hopeful. :))
  • Well no because she was the only one who bid.

  • Yes ma'am I see she was the only bidder. Just because she was the only bidder doesn't necessarily mean the GMT was already claimed, does it? I know in the past others look to auction Candy ponies for cash instead of the GMT.

She could have misread or got confused. We all have had our share of oops moments. I'm really just asking if it was possible right before auction ended, Hoopclay could have pulled the token off?

    {Edit to add: I was just genuinely curious. I know there have been a few times were someone thought they were bidding on an intact mare and then after the close the horse was altered. (geld/spayed) Which I now see if a horse is in the auction the geld button disappears. :) }
  • It has never happened. If it is an issue we will address it. There is no point chasing hypotheticals.

  • I just created 26 horses (the alphabet lol) no candy horses. How do I tell if it's too soon? Here's my candy create:

  • CHF, my thought on what happened was someone pulled the GMT off at the last minute. Maybe they had just learned what it was and realized they had made a mistake. I’m not mad (it was 2750) but wanted to check in. Ammit can see the horse history though so I must have just misread or the like.

I’m also not sure that pulling the GMT token at the last would be against the rules— as you said, it’s like gelding or breeding a horse while in auction. (It would be shady and unfriendly, certainly.) I’m also pretty sure that if this was more than a 2750 discussion, and the pulling of a GMT happened, there would be some sort of supportive answer here.

I thought I was the only one who bid on this horse is because you can’t search for the candy horses in any way and thus I manually went through all horses in the auction under 4 yrs old.

  • @SummerMonarch, oh WOW. I have never thought about what it would look like on a chimera and that is the neatest thing ever!
