Good Show Horses To Buy
-
Hi guys! I just started this game and I’m wondering if anyone has any good examples of what I should be looking for in show horses to buy. I’m a visual learner, so being able to look at a horse and seeing on that profile what it is I need to be looking for would be very helpful! I hope that makes sense. I’ve already read through the new player info and now I’m just hoping to be able to see it.
Thank you! -
As a new user you make the show horses we try to buy off you. The best thing you can do is keep the really high pointed ones for yourself because that’s how you make money.
Here is a link to my (very messy) show barn:

As a new player try to stick to horses with a PT score of around 9.5 to 10.5. These horses will train and move up the shows at a steady rate and should place well enough in shows most weeks to give you a steady income. Also, what SummerMonarch said, keep your high pointed creates as they will earn you hbs on a daily basis, and if you show them twice a week, they will increase their daily earnings.
This is a complex game so please feel free to ask as many questions as you want. This game has a wonderfully supportive community. :)HAJ1 White Valley #60847 HAJ3 minimum #175

Welcome Ldygodiva! Since you asked for some visuals, here is an example of a horse you could create as a new member that would be a good show pony to keep around!

Some notes:
Age: Horses can start training at 2 years old. Making your new creates 2 or 3yos means that they can start training and earning more points right away.
Gender: geld or spay your show horses to give them a training bonus!
Points: this horse was created with over 1500 points, which is pretty spectacular! In general, you can start by keeping anything with over 400 points, and then start selling off some of the lower pointed ones as your high-point collection grows.
Current Lifetime Payout: this tells you how many hbs this horse will earn for you through the course of their life if they are never shown or trained again.
Pt score: this horse has a performance testing score of 10.4, which is the highest a foundation can have. (PT refers to the rough age a horse will stop training. The higher the PT the longer they will train and increase showing ability). In general I like to see foundation show horses with a PT of 8 or higher. But if they have a huge amount of points I'll keep them anyways.
Herd helper tattoos: this horse is from an exceptionally perfect herd helper, which is responsible for his high PT. Other herd helpers that guarantee good PT scores include Good/Exceptional Show Horses and Perfect Foundations.ID #242
