We are running an experiment on Forest server to test the new user experience and we quickly realized that the pointed create sales were going to cause problems down the line for the server if we did not put a cap on them. People could create a second premium account and use that to get unlimited pointed creates to keep and sell. This had apparently already started up in the short period the larger pointed creates were available so it is good we got out ahead of this before issues started to really form.

The goal is to get cash in the pockets of new members for them to start out and help them build up a solid starter show barn, not to line the pockets of older members.

With this in mind, a few changes have been made to the create a horse page.

1) You can now keep creating pointed creates up to 60k held points. At 20k points the points for each create are halved and at 40k points they are halved again. This is to help you wean down off creating your points and onto buying and showing for them.

2) I added a bunch of text to help clarify what is going on, why show horses are important, letting you know when your pointed creates will run out etc.

3) There is now a secondary cap. If you hold 60k points OR you have created horses with 100k or more worth of points you can no longer make pointed creates. This is a living cap. That means as those horses die off (even if they are archived) you can start making pointed creates again. This is to allow new members to sell up to 40k worth of pointed creates without it impacting their ability to create horses, but stops people from making unlimited pointed creates for the purpose of transferring money to their primary account. Why a living cap? If you leave the game for a while and come back I want you to be able to start fresh


These changes mean that we will be incentivizing new members to keep the show horses they create. That means they need a new income stream. I have changed the achievement tasks so that they are now giving 10 times the HBs they did before. I have added cash rewards to all achievements AND I have added OVER A MILLION hb in new achievement rewards. New achievements mean you can claim them even as an older member. Enjoy your free million bucks from the new achievement milestones older members. (And watch out for the cash cap!)

-I also super boosted the bonus stall xp to give new members a place to put those new show horses.


We are going to be testing this out to see how this changes the new user experience. That 100k limit is flexible in the future. We are going to try it out and see if that is a good cut-off. As for the total user experience update, we will be doing more in the communing months but I wanted to get this live for the Forest server experiment. I am really looking forward to seeing how these changes work out.
