Too much darkening for tiger eye?
-
I’m curious with this filly. She is homozygous for tiger eye, but does not show it. I did re roll the portrait, but I wanted to ask before I kept trying. Does the black plus Hom sooty plus Hom DP override the tiger eye? Or is it just a matter of chance and worth re rolling?

Yes, eye color is a spectrum and you can overwrite tiger eye if there is too much darkening going on.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

Thank you!

One way you can get light eyes on dark horses is to add splash. Sometimes horses with splash will get blue eyes, even with out tiger eye. Unfortunately it looks like neither of the parents has a splash gene so you're out of luck on adding it to this horse.

Tiger eye is not blue. Adding cream is a better bet to get tiger eye.Need to contact me? Read this first.
