I just started the game today. Not super sure about what I’m doing but excited to figure things out. I have loved horses for my who life a recently started working with them. I don’t currently have any pets and I don’t like tea or coffee.

I have loved horses most my life, but have never gotten to own any due to living in the city. I have a giant dog though.

My hobbies include tabletop roleplaying, genetic/animal games, reading, and being a tea snob.

Hi there! This is my secondary account. But I actually thought of a few questions I still haven't figured out, maybe you all would be able to answer.

First of all, what, if any, is the difference between the Show Class shows and the other ones with the long names? I always notice that the Show Class ones have many more entries while the others have 0 usually.

Also, I understand the show levels of 1-7 and the L, R, N, and W. But when I go to look at my individual horses' show results, it has a J or an H next to their level. Sometimes it will say "2J" or sometimes it will say "1R J" or something like that. What does that mean?

Hi, impossibleview! I don't quite understand your first question about 'Show class' shows. Regardless of the name of the class they are all basically the same.

The J and the H are leftovers from when we could set and had to train horses as either Jumpers, or Hunters. They don't have any effect on performance anymore and are basically meaningless, Ammit just hasn't removed them. She's focusing on new and more fun features!

TL:DR - just me nattering on.
Over on Forest all of my stables are some version of "Follies," but I felt I needed a new handle here on Mesa. So I went hunting for famous mesas, fell down a couple of Google rabbit holes, and landed on Layia Glandulosa, the desert daisy. I've decided that I'm going to breed all yellow and white horses on this account - cream, pearl, silver, champagne, gray, and lots of fun pinto markings. I'm using some Shades of Pale and some Champagne Fizzy herd helpers, and wouldn't mind getting my hands on a couple of light-boned Color With A Really Long Name horses. I'm also excitedly waiting for Macchiato to come up in the RGS.

I'm new to this game, just dropping in to make sure I say hello. I actually came across this game by accident when I was looking at different horse breeds and it looked like a lot of fun. I'll be sure to come back to the forum if I have any questions, after I look at the FAQ of course.

Oh, and definitely tea, Chamomile is the best!

@LayiaGlandulosa, haha. Everyone has different tastes. I'd say give one of the ones with added flavor a shot. I've been drinking the Celestial Chamomile with Honey and Vanilla for years and years. To each their own, heh, thanks for the reply.

Hmmm. I'm drinking Stash brand plain old Chamomile. Might be worth trying some other varieties, since I need teas without caffeine for my evenings.

In that case, remember the posting rules, guys: Posting Rules: Please make your posts legible by using proper capitalization and punctuation, and avoiding chat speak.
For example, use normal capitalization and not all caps or no caps.
One punctuation mark will do. "!" is excited. "!!!!" or "???" is unnecessary.

hi! I’m new to the game and I think it’s fun so far! Trying to keep my horse collection small so I can keep track of them- it’s hard!! I wish it was this easy and cheap in real life.. my wallet is almost always empty..

I do have a question, what effect does an “exceptional producer” and “exceptionally perfect” have an horses? I have a few from dhh and I’m not sure what it means.

Hi krispykris! Welcome to Hunt & Jump! You will need to find the April 2022 Peer Group Discussion to get your Welcome Pack gifts, this is the March one!

All the horses have a varying number of 'scores' when they are created. Some scores are for breeding ability, some are for showing ability. If you think of a perfect foundation (1st generation, newly created) horse as having a 9.9 Performance Test score (PT score. 9.9 is the highest a basic create horse can have) and having 100% breeding ability, then an exceptional producer will have a 105% breeding ability, but a random showing/PT score, and an exceptionally perfect horse will have 105% breeding ability and a 10.4 PT score.

Does that make sense?

I can handle now, maybe later once he's a lil older we will get back into riding. Have plenty

I know that a lot of people don't even look at their show herds (I am one!). Others manage them closely. What is it you are looking to understand about showing?

I think I'd like to understand how to determine a good show horse, if there is such a thing, to maximize stall space? Is that even a consideration to have or should I just keep everything with a good PT and not worry about it

Hi AzilizM! Welcome. It varies from person to person about how they like to manage their show herd. It is definitely a balance between getting the show points and having the barn space. Some people sell their foals, since they don't have points and do not train, and buy pointed creates from new players who are still getting that bonus. It is usually the players who have been around a while who keep everything because they can afford to buy the extra barns.

Hello! I've been around for a few months. I have accounts on the other servers and figured I'd make one here too, but never got around to posting anything. This account is going much slower than my Bluegrass account, mostly because I'm not spending any money, but that's okay. I am still having fun. I love how this game fits to my busy lifestyle with no stress to log in every day (even though I still do).
