Getting Awards
-
Hello Everyone!
I'm actually very new to the game. I'm picking up the sense for everything however I was wondering. I'm trying to learn how to 'better my chances' at my horses getting club awards. is there a way to do that or is it just luck of the draw?
information is greatly appreciated. -
There are several different types of club awards. Some are for the horses who have earned the most points over the month. Some are for the horses who have produced, on average, the best quality foals. And there are also prizes for the foals born with the highest PT.
For showing awards: Show all your horses, and have show horses from a variety of generations (Foundation, second generation, and lined horses).
Have horses from a range of PT levels as well. The PT number corresponds to the age at which a horse will stop training (so a horse with a PT score of 10.4 will finish training at 10-ish years old, while a horse with a PT score of 14 will keep training for longer and thus reach higher levels of shows with higher point and hbs payouts).
For breeding awards: The fastest way to make it to the top is to get yourself a high-quality stud and start a herd using the bootstrap method (I'm not sure if someone has explained bootstrap breeding on this server but I can try to track down an explanation for you). Some people also find it rewarding to start their own herd at a lower quality level and work their way to the top from there, it's really up to you! When you do end up with a high-quality stud or mare, try to only breed them to horses that are also high quality. Breeding them to a horse that is of significantly lower breeding quality will pull down the quality of the foals.
For PT awards: If you already have a high quality stud and mare, breed them together to get high PT foals. If you only have one or the other, this is when it might work to breed your high-quality stud to some mares that don't quite match his quality to boost the PT of the foals.
