Your Mesa Server Breeding Projects
  • After returning to hunt and jump after a long hiatus, I'm starting from scratch again here on Mesa server. It's amazing to see how many new features, details, and genes have been added over the past months :O

    While I'm rebuilding my stock, I'd love to hear what your breeding projects are on this server! Big and small, if you have any lines that you're proud of, or are still works in progress, please feel free to share them and spread some inspiration here :)

  • Well it took me months to finally settle on a breeding goal on this server so I’m not as far along as others. But my goal is breeding black, satin, warmbloods with as little white as possible. They will probably turn into a bootstrap line eventually, but for now I’m doing even breeding.

    Here’s my foundation stallion.

  • Thank you, Ammit! I'm glad to be back.

    @BlaxkDiamond
    How lovely, the satin on chimera markings looks so unique and stunning, plus with a background of black coat it really stands out :x Can't wait to see more of what this line might produce in the future, thank you for sharing, something about solid black is so elegant, and their names are perfect!

  • I don’t know that I’ve ever seen anybody breed black and satin before. I’ll have to look up some that aren’t brindle. ^_^ your stud is gorgeous.

    This is my new boy:

    I can’t wait to start breeding him. I’m looking to make this line Hom for all missing genes(snf, satin) and then add in varnish, sun/sno and dfp1.
  • Yay, welcome back!! Please keep us updated on what you decide to breed!

    I breed for riding horses and strive for all of my horses to be even, superior, consistent, ee sty sty and preferably hom DP, so progress is slow but steady!

    Here are my foundations!

    My first and primary project is quality, I only have one gold and one star 4G right now but hopefully more next season!

    My second project is a line of brindles which is off to a great start with this father and son pair

    LH3A Tiger

    My last sort of side project is to try for an hom satin hom mushroom lined foal. I have a few hom satin foundations but only one het mushroom stud. I haven't been as focused on this project, but it's a fun goal to keep in mind! :D
  • I have way too many pans in the fire right now lol.

    I have a white 8 line that's draft horses with these guys:

    image
    PD Arthur Morgan Y1G

    image
    PD Guts and Glory B1G

    image
    Riptide B1G

    That last guy is also the start of my m&m line that's chocolate/white m.

    I also have a watercolor/lace line that I love. These are the two foundation studs for that one:

    image
    WL Ends of the Earth B1G

    image
    WL Fool For Love B1G

    I also have a snowflake cob line and a liver line. The liver line might be about to go to clear a bit of room and let me focus in on the other ones.
  • I have a chinchilla line that I'm really fond of!

  • @blaxkdiamond, Onyx is absolutely stunning. So subtle and classy! I wish that metallic brindle was possible in real life!

    @Runaround, Fool for Love is officially the coolest watercolor I have seen. He's the champion of Holloween spirit!

    I'm most active on the Forest server, but I came over here to have a line of tiny rainbow ponies - so far this guy is my smallest at 12.2 hands. On Forest I'm pretty stringent about quality, but since the tinies are so hard to breed, and I'm thinking I may just scrap breeding for paper or PT and only breed for color and height. If I end up doing that it would be a completely new approach for me!

  • @Pestilenttempest
    The luster of pearl with that white spotting looks so lovely. Imagining how this will turn out with the other genes sounds brilliant! dfp is new since my time here, so it's really exciting to see someone's plans for incorporating it into a breeding project, thanks for sharing!

    @LadyhawkeStables
    Thank you for the warm welcome, and I will :D Your lines are very close to my old projects (though I was more focused on At and nd1 at the time), so this is definitely getting me fired up again to get some good stock assembled! The contrast between gorgeous dark bases and the splashes of white are so pretty, and your brindle duo is amazing. Good luck with future projects.

    @runaround
    A lot of new and exciting things in your lines, the watercolours are so lovely, and those big beautiful drafts with the cloudy white markings are dreamy :x This game has such great art and so much detail that it's always really hard to settle on which of the many amazing combinations of colours to breed for! Thank you for sharing.

    @pinkie3
    Chinchilla! Wow, they look so silver and cool. Love the dapples on your mare, what a stunning pair! :)

    @Egret
    A rainbow pony line, that sounds so magical :x 12.2 hands, oh my... a perfect little purple pony! Stunning and his colours are so pretty. I'd love to see how this goes in the future. Thanks for sharing.

  • I still haven’t decided what I want to breed on this Server! Right now I seem to be focusing on Snowflake Appaloosas. I also can’t wait until my two 2nd Generation Brindles are old enough to breed together. I’m hoping for a Brindle line but I know that’s going to be difficult.
  • @EvieC
    It's always so hard to choose, but fun to experiment until you find something that really stands out! Snowflake is so pretty... and wow, 2g brindles, that's quite a task, but sounds very rewarding :D Good luck and thanks for sharing!

  • I’ve been working on an Appaloosa line, mixed with Onyx and Lace. I just got off a break as well, so I’m thinking about changing things up soon with some new studs (though I’m still so thrilled with the ones I’ve been using!)
    Here’s one of my new favorite foals :)

  • Welcome back, everyone!

    I have three B studs that are the base of what will eventually be my bootstrap lines. One will be a solid base, one will be a fancy pants line, and one will have a solid base with some white factors added in. I hope all will have at least one copy of DP and sooty. I wish I could have afforded satin, but it just wasn't in the cards.

    They're starting with an even base, and all second gen must be A/Blue to pass to breeding. It's a slow start, but I would love to follow in a previous players footsteps from another server. These lines will be kept very small.

    My plain Jane boy, but for my own reasons. He means a lot to me.

    Sheldon

    My fancy pants boy because we all need some fun:

    image
    Man o War

    And a memory boy:

    image
    General Lee

    My only other line will be a straight even bred line. I'll be BAing everything, but can't afford comp testing with a basic account. I want mostly silver liver, bay, brown, and sable when possible. It's an appy base with the new gene.

    image
    Grumpy Old Man

    I hope to keep all my lines very small and of the highest quality possible.

  • @MesaVerde
    Oh wow, how beautiful, your boys are! :x Loving the variation from clean and elegant simplicity to bold, fun splashy patterns. I can't wait to see how these lines turn out, bootstrapping with different themes sounds like a great project to boost a herd! Hom DP silver brown is one of my favorite colours in this game (so far, haha :)) ) with halo spots looks amazing! Thanks for sharing.

  • For those who were curious, here's my current stock... am I already scheming about how to GMT them? Perhaps :))

    I'd love to focus on starting lines from B/Red papers, but Cherry Drops are too irresistible, so thinking of having them as a little project on the side. Will definitely be adding hom sooty if possible plus changing A+ to something else...

    And got some lucky expro creates to pair with my Pretzel stud, who I'm still pondering over, would love to add more copies of DP if it comes up in the RGS anytime soon.

  • I feel like you can never go wrong with a herd full of DP! My whole forest account is dedicated to livers :)

    I think these are some of my favorites from my mesa lines. I started with B/Red foundations and I'm nearly through culling any breeding stock that doesn't test superior. My goal is a chocolate black satin base with tiger eye, KP/KP2, and some white spotting (mostly a mix of sabino, kit M, tobiano, and white 8).

    When my foundations pass later this year I'm debating adding another fantasy gene to the line, but I'm having a hard time deciding! For now I'm torn between chinchilla, dun factor, phantom, or ice, but hopefully I'll make up my mind when the time comes :))
  • I'm working on Appie (Lp only), even gen riding horses that carry TE1, DP, Snowflake, ND1 and now the new Halo. Would like to get a copy of the Sun/Snow gene in there as well as the DFP1; but its slow going. I've got a couple of Satin foundations ... one I'm no longer using, so he's sitting in a show barn :) Going to start weeding out the satins a bit and just went through a huge barn sale, threw a lot into the auction. Having a hard time getting going and interested on this server, but working on it. Oh and Brindles ... still with the brindles.

  • Welcome back everybody!
    My goal here is to have an uneven cob fantasy line. I have a few cool genes knocking about here. I only have the one breeding goal so it does make it a little easier. I am quietly trying to be competitive in the fantasy leader boards, and so far I have been doing pretty well as far as best producing stallions.
    Here is my starter foundation stallion. 99% of my current stock is his descendant, with one or two mares that I have ended up with along the way.
    image
    Bread And Butter

    This season, my first star papered stallion comes of age. I will be putting him with my highest mares, I cant wait to see what he produces :)
    image
    S119STS ChipsAndBeans

    I have been working on a replacement foundation stallion since Christmas as I am aware Bread and Butter has limited time left. I will be merging this boy with an ex perf stallion, then boosting so he will be at the same level as Bread and Butter. I'm hoping to get a copy of hearts on him and maybe a copy of chinchilla or mushroom. I'm super pleased with how he has turned out and the joys of merging is I can merge him with a foal and he will be young again :)

    My show herd is still not very strong, but once I have finished my current foundation project, I'll start saving for another big barn so I can keep some more babies.
