tips for expanding barns/picking keeper horses
-
heya! newer player here! Im LOVING all the barn buddies herd helpers, but i keep finding myself with full barns! does anyone have any tips on how i should go about saving to expand my barns? I bought one IV barn but i didnt realize you couldnt expand them without GTs. Would it be smarter to save up for larger IV barns at this early point in my game?
Ive slowly been picking out a couple of my lower pointed/PT creates to sell, but im still struggling to let them go when i compare keeeping them to keeping new foals. How do you pick foals to keep when you still have pointed creates? Should my barn be half pointed creates, and half foals? Ive found it slightly frustrating to come across the advice that we should "keep as many pointed horses as possible" without tips for when new barns fill up so fast.
Would love to know how yall balance barn space! -
I recommend buying the biggest barn you can afford, and keeping as many horses as possible for showing (spay and geld as many as you can).
I sent you a little gift for a new barn ;) -
WALY youre tooooo sweet thank you so much!! <3 (I also always forget to spay/geld for that bonus aaa ty!)

Keep more show horses than breeding horses. As a new member did you see a new member offer for a barn and basic upgrade maybe?
I remember there was some sort of new member special offer that for a few real life USD$ you could buy a barn and some other stuff was included.
If I was out of space I would instead save up and invest in a new barn instead of selling stuff off. Unless you know for sure some of what you have around are junkers.Ramshorn Ranch

Definitely do your best to save up for a 1000 stall barn. It's a feat for a new account however it'll make a huge difference having 1000 show horses supporting your income!
I don't know if you created a Pirates of the Caribbean horses, if you did I'll buy it for $200,000. Just put up for public sale and I'll grab it (only if your interested in selling) -
Keep selling your lower pointed and lower pt horses. This is a patience game, which you probably don’t want to hear, but it is. Keep all the horses you can and they will slowly build up their points that will earn you more hbs everyday. Try to breed cheap, and little, since you don’t have the extra hbs yet. You can actually earn some money by pasture breeding and auctioning the foals.
If you have any 10+ year olds with few points (under 500 I would say), then throw them in the auction to get their lifetime payout. Not sure how old your horses are, but usually when the month rolls over, I go through and find any 10+ yr olds that have under 500 points and auction them for the money. This usually gives a pretty good amount of money. Of course, once you have space, you can stop doing this.
In the meantime, continue creating pointed horses and buying the barns you can afford. You can sell these barns back for a lower price if you don’t want them anymore. You can also go to the foundation rescue and buy pointed horses that may give you a boost.
Also, before you get to a total of 1000 IV-bought stalls, save up for a 1000 stall barn. It’s probably gonna take a while. But this is so you can get the barn without having to pay the extra percentage. How do you pick foals to keep when you still have pointed creates? Should my barn be half pointed creates, and half foals?
I used to keep as many (higher) pointed creates as I can, and sell the foals I didn’t want, when I didn’t have the extra space. The pointed horses earned me money in the moment. Foals take time. This seemed to work out okay for me. I don’t think there’s really any recommendation for this other than to use keep as many horses as you can. After all, any horse will earn you money no matter what. Once you run out of pointed creates then keep all the foals you can. Same for when you start having more space in your barns.
Be patient and you’ll be there in no time! The daily bonus is almost exponential due to the cycle of keeping and breeding more horses, so don’t be annoyed if it’s moving slow for a bit. I sent you a little something as well :))
