Foals
-
I have currently five foals in my stable, bred either of my own horses or other horses that are supposedly good breeders. Yet all the foals I have bred the breeding advice said they should not be bred and they were automatically gelded/spayed. How do I get foals that are a good cross/can be bred in the future?

With only five foals it is probably bad luck. Breeding advice looks at the average possible foal that a particular pair can produce and then checks to see if your foal is as good as or better than that average.
It’s normal to have even good matches have a variety of quality in the foals that are born. Some will be better than average, some average, some worse than average. I think in your case since five foals is a very small number you have just gotten unlucky and gotten worse than average foals for all five foals.Ramshorn Ranch

As far as how to get better foals, there are a couple of options. Pasture breeding is always available. The longer the mare(s) are in the pasture, the better the pasture bonus is, the better the foals will be.
With a basic upgrade, you have access to straws and embryos. Premium upgrade unlocks eggs and mass flushes. Any AI breeding has an automatic 15 day bonus, so it is better than live breeding.
If you pull an embryo and implant it into a mare that is in pasture, you get a 45 day bonus.

Thanks!

I have some mares that I bought in an auction in a pasture that have produced a foal for the former owner apparently. How do I see info on that foal? I checked the mare's "family" and her foal does not show up there.

Thanks in advance for any help!

@PKarenMcD How do you know that the mare had already produced a foal? And it was likely sold back to the gameDarkPhoenix #15470 (she/her) ~ Premium Upgrade

If they have any foals in game, it would be listed under the family tab. If not, most likely was used as a surrogate or the foal was deleted.

DarkPhoenix, Because in the "foals produced this year" comment, there was a 1; so she had a foal this year. Thanks for your reply!
