Getting over shyness
  • Hi everyone, I'm a bit of a forum lurker, because I'm incredibly shy and worried about jumping on threads where I'm not supposed to and getting told off (previous bad forum experiences!)

But this seems like such a kind, caring and fun community to be a part of that I would love to overcome my shyness and join in.

So if any of you have any advice, I'd love to hear it.

  • Welcome! Don’t worry, I was totally that person when I first joined!

Some advice that almost every experienced player may give, before focusing on those big extravagant, costly breeding ideas, start by getting a decent sized show herd so then you can get Hbs even when you’re away. Your daily show payout is going to be your major helping hand when first starting out! (Learning from experience) When I first joined, I was obsessed with breeding the pretties pixel ponies, now looking back at it I wish I hadn’t. In my opinion I saw many things wrong with how I first joined. 1) I was continuously running out of Hbs for my breeding habits and continued to spend it like hot cakes, 2) When trying to sell my pixel ponies, most players weren’t interested because of the combination of so many genes, or maybe the high percentage of inbreeding. Yikes! X_X

Whatever your goals are on here, totally stick to them! I’ve been playing for a slightly over 2 years now and I still ask questions for things! Everyone on here is super kind, sure we get competitive on the leaderboards, but that’s not the point. The community is amazing and we will hopefully never be rude to a new player.

I don’t give much great advice but getting a basic upgrade helps out a ton at the beginning. Look at me, lol, I still have the upgrade 2 years later :-)) , if you have the money to spare feel free to try 1 month of premium to just see how it runs, and maybe from there you can look into getting some gene licenses! Or even a premium account full time! (Of course you can always cancel your subscription if you see that you wont be able to afford it one month, that’s okay!)

I’ve also noticed that getting a good breeding stallion right off the ground is hard! After focusing on your show herd, it’s probably time for that breeding herd, (oh! And don’t forget to check your achievements! The amount of Hbs you get for one helped tremendously for your barn to grow!), I don’t have much advice for breeding, but once you get a good stallion, set him up with some straws for sale and up for public breeding and he’ll be getting you some extra cash on the side!

One final thing, when putting your horse up for sale, you can be specific for the price it sells for. Otherwise, the auction is another amazing spot that will guarantee Hbs!

    Hope this is helpful!

  • I am so sorry about your previous bad experiences. I can tell you that it's super important to the culture here to try to always be civil and kind. Even if someone is being corrected, we try to do it as nicely as possible!

I think lurking in the forum is great, read as much as possible and try to learn. Don't feel bad about jumping in to ask a question if you run across a tidbit of information that you don't understand or want to learn more about.

My main advice is not to get too hung up in trying to play the game a certain way or the way that you think seems to be the popular way. I try out new tweaks and experiment with things all the time and some stuff sticks and some stuff doesn't. I just try to do what brings me satisfaction and not worry too much if other players want to breed to my horses or buy my horses. Most of the money making comes just from owning show horses, so it doesn't really pay to get hung up in trying to have the most popular horses.

My other advice is to save up your HBs to buy a basic upgrade with IVs or buy more barn space with IVs. Both of those are totally game changing in allowing you to use more features of the game, and accumulate more show ponies so that your daily income is more reasonable to allow you to do more fun things!

  • Welcome! Don’t worry! I definitely felt intimidated about forum posting at first! It seemed like everyone knew what they were talking about and i was afraid of sounding stupid… but everyone I have interacted with has been so friendly, helpful , and welcoming!

First I want to state that the forum is open to all players. Feel free to ask questions or add to conversations! ;)

I would definitely recommend saving for a basic upgrade! It is really worth it!

Definitely strive to make your Achievement Tasks! They offer such nice boosts for new players!

Also, I suggest building a strong show herd to help get your daily show bonus up. This is something I didn’t do right away and am now regretting it :D

Lastly, have FUN! I can’t wait to watch your stable grow!

What is your favorite color of horse so far? Also what breed are you liking best?

  • Welcome to the game, I hope you enjoy the game.

  • Take it from me I mess up alot! And when I do I'm kindly corrected. I don't perceive emotions and responses like a normal functioning brain so I tend to be more forward or off the wall with my words (still a work in process with LOTS of therapy:) but...)
I have found the community and team to be kind and understanding with everyone but bullying so I'm sorry for your bad experiences but here is a safe place :)

  • One thing this community is fond of saying is, there's no such thing as a daft question. :) This is absolutely true, nobody is ever ridiculed for asking a question. This is a complex game, so if you don't understand something, please ask, and someone will be sure to answer your question.

I hope you enjoy playing the game. :)

  • We are happy to have you on the forum. I don't always post a lot and I remember that at first I would say the wrong thing, but almost all the people on this server are awesome people and you can reach out to them if you have a question or are unsure about something. Bullying is not something that is allowed here and the bullies are very quickly dealt with. Ammit runs a tight ship when dealing with problems, you can count on her dealing with any bullying or other misbehavior very quickly.
