Rank 4: Homozygous Appaloosa

All horses will be homozygous (L^lpL^lp) for the appaloosa gene. All base colors are possible. Horses might also have other patterns.

Rank 4: Roan Splash Appaloosa

All horses will have the roan gene, the splash gene and the appaloosa gene, but may be any base color. They may also have additional rare genes, and may have additional patterns.

All horses will have the champagne and the roan gene, but may be any base color. They may also have additional rare genes, and may be solid or patterned.

Rank 3: Homozygous Silver

All horses will be homozygous (ZZ) for the silver gene. Red based horses will carry the gene, but not show it. Possible colors include silver black, silver bay, silver brown, silver buckskin etc. Horses might be patterned or solid.

Rank 5: Bay Splash Tobiano

All horses will be White Bay or Brown Splash Tobiano. They may have additional rare genes.

All horses will be homozygous (S^styS^sty) for the sooty gene. All base colors are possible, but all horses will have dark coats with heavy shadowing. Horses might be patterned or solid.
