The first one, personally I wouldn’t try to calculate because it’s so far uneven.
The second one I would call 4th gen uneven, the third I would call 9th gen uneven, because I tend to count the line that goes the furthest back. :) -
I go by average not length of the pedigree and comparable quality not the longest line personally. A 9th gen with only 8 great-great-grandparents won't hold a candle to a fully pedigreed one.
Generation only really matters for comparing one horse to another to check on the quality.Need to contact me? Read this first.

If I were trying to sort them into a generation based breeding program I would most likely try to comparison test or sort them based off of the shortest generation in the tree. So that would put them in the generation 2 group for the first two and the generation 3 group for the last one.
Looking at the paper levels as well, the 2nd one being B papered would mean he probably fits in best with my 2nd gens, and the 3rd one being Blue papered would work best with my third generations. So that makes logical sense to me to stick with the shortest branch of the tree.
If I were selling them I would just label them as uneven generation. Any buyer who is super strict about even generation breeding would likely consider these as too uneven for their program, and those who don't care about it won't really care what the proper label for them might be.Ramshorn Ranch
