New year, New ???
  • It seems Holidays are celebrated differently in recent times than from when I was growing up. I hear very little of new year resolutions or new year goals. But I'm interested in the different kind of things people want to focus on. So, if you want to share, please post below.

    My resolutions are:

    1. Not let fear guide me or get in my way.
    2. Start my business (this means getting online everything going and getting sales out the door).
    3. Take my son to Scotland.
    4. Take two days a month to not run the rat race.
    5. Work on my health.
  • My only resolution is to work on my art. Right now that looks like knitting a temperature blanket.

    What is your business?
  • I haven't thought much about my resolutions yet. I guess now is a good time to start.

    1. Schedule at least one "event" per month to photograph.
    2. Get a job to supplement my photography income.
    3. Get back into working my dog for sports and plan some training and events for her.

I need so think of some more and set goals for myself this year but its a start.
  • My goal list is massive in the undertaking department,
1* buy land near the in laws to compromise with hubby,
2*put land up as collateral for loan
    3* build cabin
4* buy the kids a pony lol
    .....
The last one is going to be the hardest to get because the hubby is not down with the horses for kids

  • * Need to get hubs and myself in gear to fixing some projects around the house.
Floor put down in 2 rooms and get quotes on a half bath(and other modifications) so I don't have to fight the boys over a toilet. :))

    * I want to look into going back to school. 36 isn't too late to learn something new, right?
Maybe for dental assistant or learn to do hair. Cleaning beach houses has lost its glamour. Haha.
I hope to start part time at tax prep office here directly. Maybe that will go somewhere, perhaps?

** Every year I say I'm going to lose weight but this time I hope to follow through.
For my health and self esteem. 8-> Should be fun. I want to do more with my son who is a massive ball of energy,
that I cannot keep up with. I want to be better for him too.
  • These are amazing!

I say 36 is the new 22 lmao :)) (we are not too old to do/learn new things!)

I make products and I'm going to start selling them. I have an investor, so now I feel I can really do this! Getting my LLC set up and online formats. Once I'm officially selling I'll share♡♡♡

Oh I'm totally on the 'need to do something about my weight' train. I'm going to start two different programs that I feel will really help me. If it proves to work I can share then. My son is massively active and I can sorta keep up lmao but kids! Energy for days! Can I bottle that up and sell it? Lol
  • A lot of you guys have goals in similar categories to what I want to work on as well.

Mid 30s is definitely the new Mid 20s. I grew up in Utah, where the dominant culture is to get married and start having kids in your early 20s. My husband and I are in our mid 30s now, and just getting to the point where we are thinking about the kid thing. The economy has not been kind to a lot of folks and I think has delayed a lot of milestone steps for many families (marriage, buying a house, having kids, etc.).

Health/Weight: I also need to get my own weight down, mostly because I have gotten to the point where I can feel it starting to affect me. Small things like more heartburn at night, a harder time out hiking, etc. I feel like my body is warning me it's time to get serious about it. My Mother was obese when I was a kid, and ended up having weight loss surgery when I was in my teens. The mother of my childhood vs. the mother of my teen years was like two totally different people. I don't want to end up like her, and I want to be able to keep up better with our active, outdoor lifestyle. I'm down 15 lbs. since my highest weight ever, so it feels good to see progress.

We are in the middle of building a house. Should be done this spring. We have been doing all of the work ourselves and living in a camp trailer during the build. I am so ready to be out of the camp trailer and storage chaos.

I would love to spend more time on my hobbies that bring me joy. More time in the saddle, spending time drawing/sketching, and hiking with my dogs, are all going to be a bigger priority once our house is complete.

  • I haven’t really thought about goals for this year so this is a great opportunity!
    1) Lose weight, been saying for years I need to but this year I really need to just do it.
    2) I graduate grad school in June, need to come up with a plan for student loans.
    3) Continue training agility with my dog and maybe be able to compete by end of the year?
    4) After I graduate in June and get a job, start riding horses again. Haven’t rode in 5 years due to college and being a poor student lol, excited to get back into it.
