Breeding C Papered Stallions?
-
Hey y'all, what are your tips on breeding C papered stallions? With all the Rank Special herd helpers we've been getting this month, I've gotten quite a few stallions that I love but their breeding capabilities aren't all that great, and most of the offspring don't pass breeding advice.
Any input on getting good, breedable foals from these stallions? -
Match them with yellow mares. try to breed c/yellow, b/red, a/blue, and match stars on gold and star.

Even when you're matching good stallions and mares you can get foals that are not a good result from the match. For example you can breed the same stallion to the same mare 10 times, and only have 2-4 of those foals pass breeding advice.
So at the end of the day the more foals you breed the more passing foals you get, but it's always going to be a somewhat low percentage of all of your foals born.
You can increase your chances of getting good foals by either:
-Using artificial breeding methods such as straws or embryos. Foals born via one of these methods have a small boost to their odds of being good foals.
-Having your mares in a pasture and accruing a pasture bonus. 30 days is a full pasture bonus. The more bonus a mare has accrued, the bigger a boost she has to her chances of producing good foals.Ramshorn Ranch

I always match yellow/c, red/b, blue/a. Then I SBA test all and comp test.
For second gens I only keep foals that are red/b out of yellow/c pairings. I will keep AGA foals but prioritize foals that are superior.Thanked by 1Farmgirl23 -
Alrighty, thanks y'all!
