Highest performance points?
  • Hey! I’m still very new to the game, but did weaken and buy a homozygous nexus stallion. I did an ET with 11 embryos (spending pretty much all my cash) and most didn’t make the cut although I got one filly and 4 colts that are pretty nice. How high do they go? I got one that’s 10.8 which is currently the highest I have! They’re all B papered although 1 came out A as well!! Sooo how high should I be aiming?! Thank you!

p.s - not sure the ET thing is worth it LOL...if anyone wants a shiny spayed/gelded baby with one copy of nexus for like 10k a piece, let me know!!!
  • They look nice! On this server it looks like the highest pt is currently 12. I have no idea how anyone got that high this fast. They must have used breeding boosts lol. My personal highest PT score on Mesa is 2 horses with 11 so 10.8 seems pretty respectable to me.
  • The perfect creates and exceptional show herd helpers, with a few boosts could get you that high I think. @arya2020 the pt and the breeding rating are mostly separate, so if you want pt over high breeding levels, breed low B and A papered studs to high yellow or red mares, (or vice versa) and you should be able to pretty consistently get high pt foals that at least pass BA
  • That’s what I’m trying! I’ve got them all over the place...one mare has a pt of 2. something and probably needs to be culled lol. Thank y’all!!!
  • Yea my line that produces 12s are boosted first and Second gens ^_^ they produce one star/gold every season.

    My non-boosted b papered studs produces a max of 10.7 & 11.
  • I have one 11.0 from non-boosted foundations. I haven’t bred any third generation babies yet.

If you’re looking to get good show ponies, use your pasture bonus to your advantage!
  • Yeah I saw that late so they’ve only just now been put in the pasture! Gonna have to wait til next month to get the full benefit. How large of a benefit would you think it is?
  • I don’t know if the exact breakdown is open knowledge. When I first start up and have stall space, I show my mares Sunday, throw them in pasture, and breed them 13 days later, pull them out and show them again. That way, they aren’t missing any shows but I’m getting as much pasture bonus as possible.

For example, this month I would show August 2nd. Breed August 15, and pull and show them that same day.

When my stalls are filled with show ponies, I leave my mares in pasture 24/7 to collect as much bonus as possible.
  • I never thought to do it that way but what a great idea for maximizing your bonus and points!
  • Do you usually only show a couple times a month? I was thinking we could show a couple times every week!
  • Horses train once a week and show twice a week. Breezy is balancing the bonus her mares get from showing with the breeding bonus from being in the pasture. It's a fine line! Mares with a really low PT score might as well just stay in the pasture.

Mares earn breeding bonuses for every day they spend in the pasture, up to 30 days. So if you divide the unknown bonus score by 30 you would get how much they earn per day, but Ammit is keeping that number a secret!

The bootstrap method takes some planning, but it does get your showing points up higher and faster than breeding even generations. There are a couple of 'how to's on the other servers about doing bootstrapping right. I couldn't tell you how, since I am one of the OLD timers that has a hard time not breeding even generations, and never learned the ins and outs of bootstrapping!

ET is definitely not worth it! :D But it has it's uses. Try just pulling ONE egg at a time and creating embryos that way, instead of doing a mass flush. Ammit did recently tweak the system so that breeding using embryos has a bonus equal to what the mare would get if she stayed in the pasture for 15 days. Breezy, that might affect your plan for pulling mares after 13 days depending on if you are using live cover/straws or embryos.

  • I'm confused what ET is. Lol. I keep thinking of the movie. *ET PHONE HOME.*
  • An embryo transfer! Not sure if y’all call it the same thing here!
  • @ConfluenceFarms I only pasture breed here. I do some straws and live cover on Forest, but I have a high enough daily bonus that I can handle getting the extra “duds” from it lol.

I only show and pasture until I have enough decent homebred show ponies that it’s worth keeping my mares in the pasture full time. But now my mares that are just sitting in pasture are getting me a bit of daily bonus, rather than none.
