Bolster Drafts
-
Not really genetics, however, I thought I'd make a post to help me keep track of this line.
I was playing on Forest and decided it'd be fun to see how fast horses could hit breeding cap with in game influences- maxing, consistency, and 5% boosting.
This line starts with 5% Boosted 10.4pt foundations. Created using Hidden Gates RS. (Generously gifted to me during the summer GE from Bluemesa)
My foundation stud
**GIFT L3**SSGE3 Hidden Style
My foundation mare
**GIFT L3**SSGE3 Hidden Countess
This pair was Red and B papered, after 5% boost they are Blue and A papered. -
My second generation had to be superior, have higher pt, as well as pass SBA, to be considered for the one breeding pair that will continue this line.
Second Generation Colt
5B Style 2g
This pair was Blue and A papered, and became *Gold and *Star (should) after 5% boost.
Second Generation Mare
5B Countess 2g
And I kept a second mare for a back up
5B Countess G2
Because this line is expensive I only intend on boosting one breeding pair per generation. And there will be multiple in game seasons between each generation. -
At this time I added a branch to the line and got a third generation breeding pair. From boosted stock, however for this branch I will only be maxing the horses.
Further generations will have to pass SBA, and test superior. I haven't decided on papers and pt at this point.
Mare Branch third generation colt
SBL3 Countess G3 2635849
Mare Branch third generation filly
SBL 2 Countess G3
I am considering trying for another colt and filly from each of these foals sires and creating a second (possibly third) branch.
If it's possible to find a mare or two in the same breeding ability as the outside sires I'd love to try some embryo breeding with my second Gen colt after he's boosted. -
Blue Mesa’s Dorian line is similar. You might get good outside blood there.
-
Thanks Summer♡
I've decided to give this project a breed name;
Bolster Drafts, for maxed and boosted horses.
Boost= Bolster; meaning to support or strengthen
My branch off of this project (maxed horses) will also have a breed name; Augment horses.
Maximize= Augment; meaning make greater by adding to it or increase -
Love it!

This seasons breeding pair for the Bolster line.
This is generation 3.
5B 3g Bolster 2641192
5B 3g Bolster 2641191
Currently this pair is *Gold/*Star and 12.70pt. They have been maxed and made perfectly consistent. I'm hopeful for **Gold/**Star after 5% boost. -
I'm feeling some kind of way with the SBA fairy so I am going to skip SBA, for now, and this pair will be a branch from this line from my studs side.
Branch 3gE2 2641856
Branch 3gE2 2641839
I will need to find a breed name for this line. *Edit* both of these foals passed SBA -
I just bred 10 embryos from my foundation pair and got 50% SBA pass rate. One colt and four fillies. Definitely thrilled about this!
The colt
Hidden Line 2g 2655515
The Fillies
Hidden Line 2g 2655518
Hidden Line 2g 2655520
Hidden Line 2g 2655522
Hidden Line 2g 2655523 -
Bolster foundations 2g branch off line is Delphic.
Hidden>> cryptic>> Delphic.
Delphic horses will not be boosted. -
-
Here is how in game influences have gone;
Foundations- Red & B 10.40pt, then 5% Boosted= Blue & A papered.
2nd Gen- maxed and made perfectly consistent and 5% boosted= *Gold/*Star with 11.50 pt.
3rd Gen- maxed and made perfectly consistent with 5% Boost= **Gold/**Star with 12.70pt
4th Gen- currently maxed and made consistent= **Gold/**Star with 13.70 pt -
Very nice!
-
Awesome, 4th gen are probably near/at the cap then?
-
I'd say near. I believe they'll hit *** with the 5% boost. I would definitely assume that 5th Gen will be cap.
-
I will have to comp test after boost :)
-
I tested my 4th Gen to sba passed ** out of *** and they test about as good as each other. I'm thinking my 4th Gen Bolsters are cap.
Thanked by 1Kintara -
They are all beautiful horses, nice jobBlue Grass id#: 182429
Forest id#: 289
Mesa id#: 351 -
I would think they should be very close, good job! Almost time to jump into the realm of cloning and double boosting XD
-
Definitely getting there!
-
To clone these horses is 136 or more ivs. I'm going to keep this line where it's at for the time. This line will be my bootstrapping herd here in a few more seasons.
This has been a very fun project! I'm in love with the line and am so grateful I got my foundation pair that started it all!
I am now going to bring in two outside lines, one from Kintara and one from SummerMonarch. These horses are to help with the bootstrapping.
KT7 project e1 2926016
Skeen E1 2878556
This is the least expensive direction I can take the line in. I will clone and double boost earlier generations of this line at some point, and then continue with it until im getting *** 15 pt sba passed horses.
For now I'm starting to look toward Era 7! -
Not to ruin your plans or anything, but might I introduce you to this young man:
Winters Ocean Storm 8B -
Feel free to message me :D
You have my attention!♡♡♡ -
I feel your pain on the cloning, the Dorian line is PRICY. Next time I do something like that it will be simple genes only. XD
-
Do you know how long or how many generations would it take to hit cap without any maxing, consistency, and boosting?❥ Flips / Stella! She/Her.
❥ 21977
❥ DFP2, Onyx, Platinum, Mushroom, Etc -
I *think* it’s either G7 or G8. I think breeding wise it usually caps out around G7, but the last little bit of PT (14.00) caps out at G8.
That has been my experience anyway. For my Dorian line (obviously expedited by a couple generations) G5 tested AGA G6; the only difference was G5 had a PT of 13.60 and G6 was 14.00. That was how I knew it was time to start boosting.
You can breed foals as good as the max ability of their parents- without all the bells and whistles of maxing, boosting, and consistency- it just usually takes more tries to get there. The comparison test is your best friend in that regard, not just against the parents, but also against the foals to determine the best of the bunch. You would definitely want to utilize the pasture bonus, or the AI breeding bonus. -
As Bluemesa said it takes more tries = more months of breeding to get the SBA passed, superior foals for each generation.
When not using bells and whistles comparison testing is your best friend! That is pricey too, or can be if you breed 100 foals and comp test them to parents and each other/or a benchmark.
And you can comp test just to sire or dam. If they're superior with higher papers and higher pt you could go off of that. I know pt isn't recommended as a tool to know how good of a breeder they are but when using bells and whistles the pt goes up with the paper level so I think (for me personally) it's fair to use it as much as comp testing/SBA/paper level. -
And going back to the beginning of my Bolster line, my foundation pair are now, respectively, 17 and 18 years of age!
I'm so pleased that I asked for them! Truly has been one of my favorite projects here!
I am now breeding my "Pirates" to follow suit and cross with my Bolsters. This line will allow me to get ***Star/Gold Era 1 horses all homered ♡♡♡
I will be starting a new post for my Pirates :)
