How do you add the genes? Whenever I try to do something it always either says that "No edits are available for this gene" or that you can change it to -. Do I have to click something else?

You might be trying to edit a horse that is not eligible for the gene edit you are trying to do. Do you have a link to the horse you are trying to edit? And also more details about what change you are trying to make. For example are you trying to add Tobiano, remove Gray, etc.

I saw the post and was just messing around with different horses, trying to see what I could do. I don’t really have any specific horses or genes that I’m looking for right now. Could someone put up an example and explain what they did?

I'm not sure this helps. So with this filly I added mushroom. Since mushroom isn't in the lab I select the sire or dams side of the - and then the option to change - to mu comes up and I select it to add 1 copy of mushroom.

Horses must have had genetic test done, foundation, and be unbred (no offspring) in order to add or take away genes. Lined horses must have genetic test, unbred, and genes may only be changed based on the parents genes.

The best place to start is to pick a special foundation stallion who has never had any foals and is gene tested. Then your edit options are only going to be limited by your GMT budget and you’ll get a good value for the GMTs spent.

This stallion I took from a Brown with Sty+ and added a lot of edits to. The tattoos on his page list all of the changes.

If you are using a lined horse with no foals to edit the GMT edits are cheaper, but you can’t change the genes to something the parents didn’t have. For example if you wanted to add Tobiano, but none of the lined horse’s parents had Tobiano you won’t be able to edit the lined horse to have Tobiano.

Ohh, I get it now. I didn’t realize that lined horses could only be changed based on their parents genes. I’ll go find a nice foundation stallion to edit. Thank you so much @LookingGood
