Introducing Member Ads

Member Ads can now appear on the right side bar (footer on mobile) showcasing member stallions, breeds, sales and anything else members wish to promote in game. You can click "Submit An Ad" in the Member Ads box to learn all about the new Member Ads/
Why would you want to submit an ad?
If you are promoting a stallion, or a big sale you have coming up, an ad can help get more eyes on your promotion. Not every game member checks the forum, but every game member will be shown these ads. I can't guarantee you will make more hbs by placing an ad than 1GT is worth (that depends a ton on the quality of your ad and offer) but I can guarantee it will be viewed by hundreds of players, most of which would never have seen your offer otherwise.
Also vanity. Let's be real. Most of those ads placed in the breed magazines are vanity, and there is nothing wrong with that. If you want people to know your breed, to know your stallion, to think highly of your program, they have to know it exists. Promoting your best horses, celebrating your big wins, thanking your futurity breeders etc. is just a fun way to share with the community and support the game.

Just a heads up on the rules. I am normally pretty lax about what you name your horses, but I will be more strict here. If someone feels uncomfortable by the name of your horses, in normal play, they don't have to engage with your horse, or you. These ads are much more in people's face so I am going to make sure these ads don't make the game feel like an unsafe place. Full list of topics I am going to give extra scrutiny can be found on the "Submit An Ad" page.
I also ask that you use only game art, or hand drawn art created by you (or for you) to show horses in the ads.
Look, there are plenty of non copyright violating ways to use photos, but most people are not trained on the complexities of photo copyright. We are not equipped to teach that to you or to individually confirm the legal status of every photo. We also can't accept photos taken by you or created by AI images for the same reason. We are simply not equipped to confirm the legality and provenance of all of these images. They also just aren't "the vibe." Since everyone has to look at these, that's important to me as well.
Please just use the game art, or hand drawn art created by you (or for you) when it comes to the horses. I won't be policing backgrounds the same way. That starts to become different legally and it's a lot easier to find background options that are available to use.
The image stuff is complicated and over time we can adjust or clarify things to hopefully make it less so.
These are NOT the google ads mentioned before.
If you missed the prior announcement post we are working on bringing google ads to the game for members who have not made any recent purchases. That is a very drawn out process requiring extremely technical fiddly work because of the nature of having a members only site. We have no ETA on that but are working hard to get those working.
These ads will be shown to every member in the game. I think it is perfectly reasonable and non intrusive to be shown community created game content while on the game. These aren't third party ads, there is no tracking or annoying clickbait or weird images. Just pictures of game horses. If they cause any issues though just let me know.Introductory Special Offer!
Member ads cost 1GT to submit and run for 2 weeks. HOWEVER: To help kick off these new ads all ads will be given 1 month of run time instead of 2 weeks. This will drop to two weeks once we have a steady number of ad submissions.
Also if you are one of the first 3 members on this server to get an ad approved, I will refund your GT, making your first ad free.
I will be approving ads on a case by case basis. If you ad has an issue you will be given direct feedback on how to fix it.Need to contact me? Read this first.

I have now flagged multiple ads as having issues because of illegible font. Please keep in mind the size of these ads.
The text in this image is the absolute smallest I can accept. High contrast and larger font size makes ads accessible to as many people as possible. Please be kind to our older members. :))Need to contact me? Read this first.

Can you get a refund for your Ad after it’s been approved?

No. You pay when you submit an ad. You can delete your submission for a refund any time up until it is approved. Once it is running you can't get your token back.Need to contact me? Read this first.
