So I think I might be able to create the banner just fine on canvas. Im really confused though about creating a tattoo and having it the correct size. I really just want something super simple. I’ll see if I can add a photo reference somehow

id look into downloading medibang paint, its my go-to photoshop / art program and it isn't perfect, my main program i use is procreate but that's both an ios exclusive and a one time 7$ purchase, if youd like i can maybe whip up a transparent image for a brand, id also maybe do hb commissions if you'd want art for a banner.

Tattoos have to be 25 pixels x 25 pixels and a .png file type. It is helpful to have some sort of image software where you can zoom in a lot to edit the image because they are so tiny at actual size.

The .png allows for a transparent background so that you can have a tattoo that the base color of the horse shows through any areas that you left color free.

In my experience tattoos look the best if the image is simple, takes up most of the 25x25 space and has no background. I also try to think about designing something that will show up on light colored and dark colored horses. So for example if I was creating a brand looking tattoo I might do the brand itself in black and then give it a white border. The black will show up on light colored horses and the white border will show up on dark colored horses.
