No inbreeding question

How do you guys keep your generation by different studs straight? I'm fine until I get to 4th generation and it all blobs together! Any tips? Hopefully I made sense ...

Spreadsheets, and lots of time thinking ahead and planning. Depending on how many generations you want to go you need to start with a lot of foundation stock and keep them all straight so you don't accidentally introduce inbreeding anywhere. For me spreadsheets are the most helpful way for me to keep track of what I have and what my plans are.Ramshorn Ranch

I give them each a different initial in their name, so I don't accidentally breed the "wrong" horses together. Haven't gotten far though :))

Spreadsheets and lots of foundations. :-))

With great difficulty lol.
My plan for possibly 5th / 6th or maybe later generations is to cross my Eras. So up until generation four I've been keeping my era stock separate, but plan to cross them out once I get to the genetic dead end of that era.
I'm hoping I'll also be able use other peoples 0% lines to inject new genetic material into mine, but it might be a bit awkward to find other people with small chunky stock that match my aesthetic goals.
This is all going to be a few months away for me as I'm struggling with getting enough quality G4 horses as I'm not able to max or boost. But I'll keep plugging away and gelding most of my stallions, as they all seem to be coming out AGA :(**Wensum Valley Ponies**

Thank you! I was using the initials of the 2 foundation Stallions used to make a horse before and after their name, but after 4th generation, it just takes too many initials!
