How much would this horse sell for?
  • I am wondering how much this horse & some of his half siblings go for? I am holding back & some of his half brothers to possibly use in the gift exchange depending on what the person I get paired with wants. I want to make sure I am giving them the correctly gifted amount whether its 1 or multiple horses .

  • It would be helpful if they were paper tested. It's hard for me to determine value as a breeding animal without that. Maybe someone else would have a different opinion.

If he were gelded, I would put his value at 2,500 because his PT is not very far off from the perfect foundations that you can get from the foundation rescue for that price. Also, he doesn't have any accumulated points in the bank yet to increase his value from there.

  • Like Ramshorn said, he doesn't have much value as a show horse yet, so create price of 2500.
Paper testing would help, but his breeding does not impress me, and I don't think that he would be a good colt to keep intact.
Aside from that, he has fantasy genes that require licenses, and he cannot be gifted to anybody that does not have licenses for those genes.
  • OTTB1, I think actually all of his genes are restricted non-licensed genes. They're all noted in Orange, not purple.

  • Ope, didn't see that part, just saw glowing.
  • The genes on this horse don't add any value to him. It addition his grand damn having failed papers is really bad as are all the untested and unpapered horses. This pedigree is the epitome of breeding for color and ignoring quality.

While you are welcome to breed what ever horses make you happy you won't be able to progress much in the game with horses like this. There are lots of members on the forum whom I am sure would be willing to hook you up with some better quality stock to get you started in the right direction.

I am not trying to insult your stock here, just trying to help you understand why he is only worth the auction sell-back price. People like to see an upward progression in quality each generation.

  • @Ammit I am trying to go for horses with the X/X genes with some other fantasy genes that I have sprinkled in. I have done searches for horses with the X/X gene that are higher quality but they are basically non existent so I am basically having to start from scratch. With this particular horse I own only his parents and one set of his grandparents.

@RamshornSportHorses I just did his paper testing and he came back with a B level papers.

@OTTB1 He actually passed the breeding advice test since he was one that I was considering keeping as potential herd stallion but their was a better one out of his batch that was better so he has been one that has been slated to move on to the next person.
  • Would you be interested in a pair of really high PT horses, that only have one copy of X each?

I'd let you choose a mare and stallion if you want, for 1 HBS each ;)
  • I think it's great to be trying to start from where you can and build up from there. I think though at this point, until you get the line built up and heading in the direction of better quality, I would agree he's not worth a lot other than what someone who is strictly a fantasy color breeder might be willing to pay because he looks cool. For the gift exchange I would put his value at only 2,500 HBs.

  • Pkboo there are a lot of excellent X/X horses in the game. You won't find them in the public listings though.

You can always make a forum post asking if anyone has ** X/X straws available or reach out to members with stallions you like. Should go a long way to getting you horses that will earn you points and help your in-game income.
