I looked around the forum to see if a similar topic had been published earlier, but apparently no, I couldn't find anything related to these backgrounds. My question is: aren't some of them AI-generated images?

(I'm not trying to cause drama and offend anybody – I came back to the game when all those tack packs were already around, so I don't know anything about the process of creating them. Most of the BGs look like art created by a human, but some do not. Just a genuine question).

I don't want this to look like I'm wildly guessing, so here are some examples I noticed:

Are these sheep? Goats? They look a bit off.

That's very AI-like.

The fencing looks odd and the lilac flowers are huge (when the bush is quite far away), which is also typical for generated images because such tools tend to exaggerate flowers, leaves etc. to match the species mentioned in the prompt of something

At first I thought these were birds or butterflies, but after zooming in it looks like floating leaves.

If using such tools to generate new BGs was a part of the project, then… fine.
They don't look bad and everyone can have a different view on AI-generated pics. But if there was a contest and these images were submitted on equal terms with images created by humans, I'd say that was unfair for those who spent hours drawing their art by hand.

What makes you think we did not know they were AI? Most of these members paid to add to the game to help us with moving expenses. As long as they followed the submission rules there were no issues with them wanting to pay to add their AI backgrounds.

Okay. As I've said earlier, if the rules allowed AI-generated images, then fine. I guess the whole project was organized on HaJ Bluegrass, where I do not have an account (unless it's still around after a few years of total inactivity lol) and I couldn't check anything about it quickly. I was just curious

It was on all servers. Anything from an MMM pack members created themselves and paid to add to the game. The CCC pack was organized by a game member on all servers. AI was explicitly allowed by the rules. There would not have been enough entries without allowing it. Don't worry, no one was doing anything under the table.
