Era8 foals, how?
-
Hello, I've seen in the RamshornSportHorses post about an example for the gift exchange that he wants to make an era 8 herd. I'd like that too, but I don't understand well how that works. You receive straws and eggs and if you mix them when the new era starts, then the foals will be era8, no matter what era were the original horses? or you can select the era when you make straws or eggs?
-
On December 1st it will be possible to create era 8 horses. The era advances every June 1st and December 1st.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

So if you mix the straws and eggs on December 1st you get the era 8 foals, no matter the era of the parents?

No only new foundation creates will be the new era. Era is always determined by the parent with lined horses.Need to contact me? Read this first.

Ok, I don't know why I thought that the gifts could start now, but they are in December, sorry for the confusion, it makes sense now :)

It might be helpful to explain that the Era of a foundation horse depends on when the horse is created (with the exception of exceptionally perfect horses).
Horses created today are Era 7. Exceptionally perfect horses created today are better than a usual create, so they are "penalized" by one Era and are Era 6.
When December 1st comes the Era advances to Era 8, and now all of the new foundations created after that date will be Era 8, and exceptionally perfect horses created after that date will be Era 7.
When breeding horses together, the Era of the baby is determined by the lowest number Era out of the two parents. So If you breed an Era 6 to an Era 4, the baby will be Era 4. Breeding an Era 8 to an Era 0, the baby will be Era 0, etc.
Eras are used to separate old lines where players started breeding their foundation horses many months/real life years ago, from new lines where players are starting fresh with foundation horses right now. Those older lines have an advantage in having better paper levels, PT scores, etc. So the era leaderboards allow more fair competition that old lines compete with old lines, and new lines compete with new lines on those particular leaderboards.Ramshorn Ranch

Thank you for that explanation RamshornSportHorses! I have been away for a while and your post was the perfect explanation!
