Planned Era 7 Stallions
  • Has anyone made any plans for a special/fancy stallion that they will also offer publicly/offer straws in Era 7?

I am toying with the idea of only doing one special/fancy stallion for myself and then doing a lot of breeding out at the foundation level. There were so many good options in Era 6, and I didn't utilize them fully because I was also trying to get foals out of my own studs with my limited mare pool.

If you've got something in mind that you're willing to share it might help me make some decisions/plans!

  • Since Era 6 is pretty much my only project, I might be doing era 7. I don’t have any plans yet. I would love to make a fancy stallion though.

  • I plan to make a chimera with 2 fancy HH :x
  • Oh snap. I was thinking a chimera also with 2 HH - wanna collaborate so we don’t duplicate? :D
  • Lol! Yes, wanna pm me?
  • I didn't even think about doing a chimera to combine two of them!

  • Those ideas are amazing! I mean, I’ll see what happens with the gift exchange but I am Always thinking about making GMT projects lol, Definitely something fun I should really try to save up my Gmts, and HBs, up for! :)

  • I will have one for sure. :)
  • I think I'm going to build off of an Invictus HH. Medium bone, horse height.
Silver Buckskin Dun or Silver Smoky Grullo with wf none, nd1, sooty+, and DP.

    Probably will adjust him to:
White Spotted Brown Dun Sabino Rabicano (W3/SB2, RB/RB). Will keep the nd1, Sty+, and add some extras:
-Swap the one copy of Cream for Pearl
    -DP/DP
    -KP/KP2
    -gp/gp
    -Maybe TE1/TE1

Unless I change my mind. But it will probably be something close to this.

  • I’m gonna get what my L2 gifter gives me. :)
  • I'm with Summer, I'll get what my gifter gives me, If they choose to do a stud for me.

Otherwise I'll create a stud for my Era 7 line and just promote him :) he'll be dashing!
  • LG all your horses are dashing :D

  • Invictus is the HH I created. I’m excited to see your creation Ram. :)

  • I'm torn between Unconditional or Invictus.
(Keeping with my last 2 eras so I can mingle lines.)

    Grullo/Brown Dun
Homozygous for Tobiano, P+,S+, Belton and KP (depending on funds. :D)

  • TripG, sounds like a wishlist item. ;)
  • It's on there.. but I'm sure I'll not have the patience by the 3rd to get started with new era breeding :))
  • TripleG, you know I'm going to want some of whatever you come up with. I love your taste!

The deciding factor for me between Unconditional vs. Invictus was the S+. S+ is much more expensive to add than KP.

  • :X I love my tall, dark and broody dudes. I'll share with all!

But that is true. Forgot about that nugget of info. Invictus it will be!

Eta: I also went ahead and made the chat for Era 7.

  • Hmm reading these and thinking about this next month, I’ll probably be breeding my mares to all y’all’s era 7 studs :D
    To be determined I guess
  • I’m thinking of doing an Invictus as well, but do I have the patience to wait until the 7th? I could just make it from scratch, I have enough GMTs…Should I?

  • Doing a stud early would probably give you an advantage at the top of the leaderboard. More time for more foals on the ground, especially from other players waiting to create their own stud.

But I'm also pretty frugal with my GMTs so I will definitely wait.

  • Later is actually better when studs are tied.

  • Good point. I felt like from watching Era 6 those that got their studs campaigned early and hard had an advantage. I could be mis-remembering.

  • I got my era 6 boy created on the 3rd and he was futurity champion for all past 6 seasons. Not sure if that was from promoting or just the (kind of) earlier start. I agree that earlier would probably equal more foals, and maybe more points. Hmmmm

  • I like the idea of a Peach Bellini stud with TO/TO added.

Not sure if that would be to anyone else's taste or would be complex enough?

  • Sometimes simple is good because it suits a lot of people instead of a narrow group of people.

However, it looks like the Peach Bellini is an exceptionally perfect, which means it will be B papered and Era 6 instead of Era 7 so keep that in mind.

Otherwise, I bet you would get interest because dark colors like chocolate palomino seem to be popular.

  • Thanks Ramshorn. Maybe I'll look at Unconditional with PATN1 added for E7 instead.

  • Futurity versus leaderboard are two different things with different strategies. Later is better for the LB.
