Birthday Bash Game/Contest: Fame from History
-
Special Thanks to @Walywoohoo for the continuous help with trying to link the image!
After about 55 million years and then another following 5,000+ years, horses had evolved tremendously, revolutionizing war, hunting, transportation, agriculture, trade, commerce, and even recreation. As horses became a crucial role in providing that extra support to armies in the field, to pulling wheeled vehicles, they had left a major impact on the history we know.
So now, lets get to what you came here for.
Welcome to Fame from History!
For the next week we will be playing a game of history. A game to celebrate and recognize all the horses that have put our world into a new age.
As this gift, to myself, for my birthday I would love for everyone to give a round of applause before we actually start. This took me forever to plan and work out, the hard long hours of trying to make this flow and sound good. But it was super fun and hope it is to you! I have been on a Super time crunch and finally got it done! So, Let’s play!
The Rules For the Game
Daily, I will post a paragraph in which I mention a breed, the accomplishments, or I will highlight an event from history that included horses, and will hide some key words. These “key word (s)”, (that you will determine), will lead you to one of my horses. These words may be the horses name, the tack features on the horse, or even the barn it’s in. I’ll make sure which horse is super obvious if you do a barn search, and that you may not be between two horses. But be warned, these will get harder every day!
-And I may post additional bonus paragraphs so keep an eye out! These bonuses will always be a story-time worth 1 point unless its a Super Bonus which are worth 5 points, but these are going to be harder than the actual level-
When searching horses, my barn ID #15090
1. Players have unlimited guesses, but once you guess you must wait for another player to post before sending another.
2. In your guesses, include the link to the horse, and your ID number. Your ID will be entered into a random raffle to get a chance to win the grand fortune.
Edit: -When submitting your guess, and its past Level 3, include your key words!-
So what is the fortune?
The Fortune is a cash prize worth over 300k HBs, a random 13+ PT horse of mine, and another random item of my choosing.
Every time you correctly guess the horse, you get another point to your barn.
The more entries you get the better chance you will get in the raffle.
Another special fortune will go out to the person with the most correct guesses.
So I believe that is all for now! So no peeking!
Game on!
Game will end on: April 30th

Paragraph 1: Level 1
“By the end of World War II, horses were seldom seen in battle, but were still used extensively for the transport of troops and supplies.”
October 7, 2001. The United States went to Afghanistan in 2001 to wage a necessary war of self-defense. On September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda terrorists attacked our country. The invasion triggered the 20-year-long War in Afghanistan, in which NATO and NATO-allied countries fought alongside the nascent Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to combat the Taliban insurgency.
During a war, shooting that is hitting you from your own side, not from the enemy is known as Friendly Fire.
“ Today, formal battle-ready horse cavalry units have almost disappeared, though the United States Army Special Forces used horses in battle during the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan.”

This one seems harder, maybe a story could help lighten the burden, let’s see what story we can start this time.
Paragraph 1: Bonus
In the tranquil countryside, the old man sat under the shading oak tree, his young grand-daughter beside him, gazing at the endless fields before them.
"Papa, tell me again the story about the Pegasus you saw in the magical field," the girl pleaded.
The old man's eyes sparkled with memories. "Its wings were as white as snow, my dear. They stretched up to the sun as if reaching for the heavens themselves. It was a sight to behold."
The girl gasped in wonder, "Did anyone else see it, Papa?"
A heavy sigh escaped the old man. "No, my sweet child. When I told the villagers, they laughed and said it was just an old man's tale."
The girl leaned closer, her eyes filled with belief. "I believe you, Papa. I wish I could see the Pegasus too."
The old man smiled, ruffling her hair. "Perhaps one day, you will, my dear. Perhaps one day." And in the distance, a soft hum echoed through the fields, carrying with it the whispers of magic and dreams.
Hint(s): Another Stallion horse.
Good luck!

Native Dancer - A Horse Biography
“American racing's first television idol, the “Gray Ghost” was easy to pick out even in the days of black-and-white TV sets thanks to his striking dapple-gray coat. He was known for both blazing speed and stirring come-from-behind charges. Through his son Raise a Native and maternal grandsons Northern Dancer and Icecapade, he has wielded a huge influence on the Thoroughbred.
Native Dancer stood 16.3 hands at maturity. He was "a big, vigorous, very strong horse" as described by Abram Hewitt in his book Sire Lines. Charles Hatton of the Daily Racing Form described Native Dancer as having "the development of a sprinter before the saddle and that of a router behind." He had a rather round, pounding action despite his long stride. He was forced into retirement by recurrent foot injuries.
Mentally, Native Dancer was intelligent but extremely strong-willed and had a calculating streak. These traits contributed to his penchant for close finishes; he usually had his opposition measured and would launch his bid when he saw fit, with or without his jockey's consent. They also made him rather difficult to handle; if he caught a rider napping, he was apt to clamp his teeth on the unfortunate's boot and heave him right out of the saddle, and he injured two stud grooms before Joe Hall learned his idiosyncrasies. Hall would remain his caretaker from 1959 until Native Dancer's death from complications of surgery to remove an abdominal tumor in 1967.
According to Jockey Club records, Native Dancer sired 212 winners (69.2%) and 43 stakes winners (14.1%) from 306 named foals. Sires and Dams of Stakes Winners 1925-1985 (Blood-Horse) credits him with 44 stakes winners.”
This biography of a young racehorse, Native Dancer (March 27, 1950 – November 16, 1967), and his great racing record is an inspiration to younger generations. These “famous” racehorses that aren’t quite fully known for what they do will now be recognized.
(Make sure to check the website to learn all about this magnificent horse)
Hint(s): I couldn’t find any grey horses that look like him, so the horse isn’t “grey”.

Level 2: Bonus Story time again!
In the cozy kitchen of the old farmhouse, Grandma bustled about, measuring flour and oats with precision. Her loyal companion, Black Stunning, watched with eager eyes through the window. The horse, a white-spotted beauty, whinnied softly, anticipating the delicious treats Grandma was preparing.
"Almost ready, Black Stunning," Grandma hummed, her wrinkled hands expertly mixing the ingredients. The kitchen was adorned with trophies and ribbons from Grandma's glory days as a show jumper, a testament to her skill and passion for horses.
As the aroma of the freshly baked horse treats filled the room, Black Stunning let out a joyful neigh, nudging Grandma affectionately. The old woman laughed, a melodic sound that echoed through the kitchen. She carefully placed the treats on a plate and carried it outside to her beloved horse.
Black Stunning's eyes sparkled with delight as she munched on the carrot treats, her soft whinnies mixing with Grandma's contented hums. In that moment, surrounded by love and memories, the bond between Grandma and Black Stunning only grew stronger.

Level 2: Bonus 2 Storytime… again?
As the storm raged on, the teenage boy scrambled up the rolling hills, chasing after his runaway horse. The loud crack of thunder echoed through the air, mixing with the howling wind. Debris flew past him, whipped up by the gusts.
Reaching the peak, he spotted a flash of movement down by the beach. Heart pounding, he hurried down the slope, following the trail left by the spooked horse. The boy's breath came in sharp gasps, his eyes scanning the horizon.
Suddenly, a wave crashed onto the shore, and from within emerged a mystical sight. A horse, with a coat shimmering like moonlight on water, stepped out of the frothy surf. Seaweed clung to its hooves as it stood proudly in the fading light.
The boy's eyes widened in disbelief, a mixture of wonder and fear gripping his chest. Was this a trick of the storm, a hallucination brought on by the chaos around him? Yet, the horse stood there, a majestic presence emerging from the turmoil of the sea. A creature that stepped from a tidal wave into a storm.

Level 3: Paragraph 1
The majority of outlaws in the Old West preyed on banks, trains, and stagecoaches. Some crimes were carried out by Mexicans and Native Americans against white citizens who were targets of opportunity along the U.S.- Mexico border, particularly in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. “There were really three types of people considered outlaws by the law at the time. The first group usually began their careers with rustling cattle, moved on to horse theft, and then robbing banks and trains. While good with guns and able to defend themselves, they were not particularly violent or murderous” (hoofprintsofthepast.org).
“Butch Cassidy made it even tougher on the law—he reportedly left horses staked out along his escape route, ensuring fresh mounts were available. The chasing posses usually didn’t have that luxury, which was part of the reason Cassidy was never caught after a job with his Wild Bunch Gang (at least in this country).
Posses sometimes chased for days and had to give up. Following the Benson stagecoach robbery on March 15, 1881, a posse that included Virgil and Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson pursued the outlaws across southern Arizona for nine days of hard riding. At that point, their horses played out. Masterson and Wyatt had to walk 18 miles back to Tombstone” (treuwestmagazine.com).

Do you think you’re ready?
Just remember, all the horses are tacked up to fit the theme. Okay go!
As the sun dipped low on the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the vast sunflower field, a wild horse roamed freely amidst the sea of towering blooms. Its coat, a rich shade of brown like the earth itself, shimmered in the fading light.
The horse moved gracefully through the field, its hooves lightly treading upon the soft earth, causing the sunflowers to sway gently in the evening breeze. A sense of peace enveloped the scene as the horse grazed contentedly, golden sunlight painting its form with a halo of radiance.
In the distance, the sound of crickets chirping harmonized with the rustling of leaves, creating a serene symphony of nature. The horse's movements were a dance of quiet elegance, a silent symphony in the tranquil landscape.
As the last rays of sunlight bathed the field in a warm embrace, the horse lifted its head towards the sky and let out a soft hum, a melodic sound that blended with the evening chorus of the wild. In this moment, surrounded by the beauty of the sunflowers and the fading light, the wild horse seemed at one with the world around it, a fleeting embodiment of freedom and grace.

In the untamed heart of the African wilderness, where nature's symphony played in harmony, an unlikely bond blossomed between Serengeti, a spirited wild horse, and Duma, a majestic elephant. Their paths crossed amidst the vast grasslands, where they found solace in each other's company. Serengeti's nimble strides matched Duma's gentle swaying, and together they roamed the boundless expanse.
One fateful day, as the scorching sun beat down mercilessly, a sinister presence lurked in the shadows. Tembo, a ruthless elephant poacher, stalked their territory with a gleam of greed in his eyes. His rifle was poised, its cold steel glinting ominously. Duma detected the imminent danger and let out a thunderous roar, his massive frame shielding Serengeti from Tembo's gaze. The trembling horse nestled close to Duma, finding strength in his unwavering loyalty.
Tembo's resolve wavered as he witnessed the unwavering bond between the two animals. The poacher had always justified his actions by claiming to hunt for sustenance, but the sight of the elephant protecting a horse ignited a flicker of compassion within him. Slowly, he lowered his gun and approached the injured horse.
Serengeti had tripped and wounded itself during its panicked flight from Tembo. As the poacher examined the horse's wound, a sense of guilt washed over him. He reached into his pack and retrieved a small satchel containing basic medical supplies. With trembling hands, he tended to the horse's injury, his touch gentler than any poacher's could ever be.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the wilderness, Tembo stood over the sleeping horse, a newfound determination in his eyes. He had witnessed the transformative power of kindness and realized that there was more to life than senseless killing. From that day forward, Tembo abandoned his poaching ways and became a protector of the very creatures he had once hunted.
And so, Serengeti and Duma continued their journey through the African wilderness, their friendship unyielding. They became symbols of hope, demonstrating that even in the harshest of environments, compassion can prevail. And Tembo, the former poacher, became a guardian angel to the animals he had wronged, a testament to the transformative power of a single act of kindness.

This isn’t really related to horses but there might be a few like this, for the difficulty :)
Paint peeling from the walls, the rain and water tearing the wallpaper away, saturating it. A single window in the room shattered from a rock many years ago, the very rock sat in the corner. The glass still scattered across the floor, rotted ceiling beams that had fallen now laid down by old furniture, some crushed beneath. Birds chirped outside the window, inside the room was still and quiet. The ceiling dripped with vines, the floor creating a place for new growth. The window, the pathway that leads the outdoors into the room. The green plants taking over the room, flowing over the window ledge, a small waterfall, spilling across the floor. Insects crawl throughout the walls, the house abandoned and alone. The house left to be swallowed up by nature.

The way you phrased it made it seem like every correct horse would be specially tacked up but if not and it's only the name then here's my guess. "The window, the pathway that leads the outdoors into the room." Everything is coming in from outside the window.

@ASHJ2 yes, the horse will be tracked up specifically to the theme. Sometimes the name won’t fit but the tack will.

Level 5: Paragraph 1. — Worth 3 Points
Sorry for the Late post!
“A steeplechase, more commonly known as a chase, is a race run over fences.
Steeplechases are run over distances that range between 2 and 4½ miles (3.2 and 7.2 km). The runners jump over a variety of obstacles that can include plain fences, water jumps or open ditches. The fences in chases are a minimum of 4½ feet (1.3m) high and are made of a mixture of birch and spruce.
Chases do not use starting stalls, but start from behind elasticated tapes that stretch across the racecourse. Jockeys circle their horses and then walk towards the tapes when called in by the Starter.
When the tapes are released, the race is off.
Chasers - horses that run in steeplechases - tend to be older and may have run previously in hurdle races. This is to gain racing experience and to learn jumping technique.
The name comes from jump racing's origins in Ireland, when young men would race their horses from church steeple to church steeple jumping any and all obstacles in between.
• There are 40 racecourses across the
UK that stage steeplechases.
The Grand National, the Cheltenham
• Gold Cup and Queen Mother
Champion Chase are the best known steeplechases.
Amateur steeplechasing is called
Point To Pointing” (the jockey club.co.uk).
Dangers?
In steeplechase races, horses running in races over 4,201 m were 5.0 times (95% C.I. 1.2-33.0) more likely to sustain a fatal fracture than horses in racing over shorter distances. In hurdle races, horses racing during spring were 2.2 times (95% C.I. 1.0-4.8) more likely to sustain a fatal fracture compared to winter.
Quick Read
Horses used for steeplechasing are primarily former flat racing horses, rather than horses specifically bred for jumping.
A steeplechase is a distance horse race in which competitors are required to jump diverse fence and ditch obstacles. Steeplechasing is primarily conducted in Ireland, Great Britain, Canada, United States, Australia, and France.
Hint(s):This informational text has a few themes, but the horse doesn’t have a name that will stand out with key words, the tack is also different. Try to focus on the racing and injury part, if you have to, keep researching about Steeplechase Races. This horse is definitely harder to find. Good luck!

I know you posted this horse as an example before but he hasn't been another player's guess yet so I hope it's okay if I guess him. He has unique tack, the wings could be symbolism for the jumping in steeplechases. It's a race so the horses are going fast and fly over the jumps. Though this river might be too wide to jump, there is still a fence and a water feature in the background, both elements of the jumps used in steeplechases. He also has records of damages in early spring, which would account for the injuries sustained in steeplechase.
AH Story Engines -
Here is my guess for this round. 220
This horse is older, looks tacked for racing, has leg wraps, the cemetery could symbolize danger or be a churchyard.
AH Oryx Plains -
All of these are good guesses and would have never thought of what you did! It’s unique but still not the correct answer - I am going to add 1 point to your scores just because you surprised me with your explanations lol, Good luck! Keep looking!

Hint(s): Steeplechase events usually occur between April and September.

Story time!
Emma had always been fascinated by zebras. She loved their black and white stripes and the way they gracefully galloped across the savannah. But there was one problem - she had never been able to see them in person. Emma was too sick to visit the zoo, and her parents couldn't take her because of her weak immune system.
One day, Emma's family decided to do something special for her. They had three horses on their farm, and they decided to paint them to look like zebras. They used black and white paint to create the stripes, and soon the horses looked just like zebras.
Emma was overjoyed when she saw the horses. She couldn't believe her eyes - she had never seen anything so amazing in her life. Her parents let her ride on the black horse, which they had painted to look like a zebra, and she felt like she was riding a real zebra on the savannah.
As she rode around the farm, Emma felt the wind in her hair and the sun on her face. She laughed and smiled, feeling like she was finally experiencing the joy of seeing zebras in person. Her parents watched her with tears in their eyes, happy to see their little girl so happy.
From that day on, Emma's family painted their horses to look like different zoo animals every week. They became known as the most creative family in the county, and people came from all around to see their amazing horses. But for Emma, the best part was still the feeling of riding her zebra-painted horse and pretending she was on the savannah, surrounded by the animals she loved.
