How does the game calculate gens?

The game considers this horse 5th gen, exactly, when extending the family tab. I think this horse is an uneven mess. I assume it’s complicated fractions math?

Also, for the same reason, her foal is also for auction. I spent a gmt on it before I realized the massive unevenness. If you don’t care, this is as good as my best era 2 5th gen. (It should be noted that there are *** studs in era 2 so those pt leaderboards are like era 0 leaderboards.)

All those fractional generations together somehow add up to a perfect 5. I have zero clue why the math lands that way specifically.Need to contact me? Read this first.
