I have too many bootstrap mares, and I'm trying to cull them, but I don't know what to cull them on. They're all **gold, I've gotten rid of all the inconsistent ones, and the ones with PT below 13, but I'm not sure what else to do. I could just cull more based on PT, but does anyone have any suggestions? I don't really care about color, and I would be willing to sell some of them, but I'm mostly spaying them for the show barn. Would I make more money if I sold them for like 30k or something?

Are they all SBA passed? That was my most recent cull

@SummerMonarch Didn’t mean for those to be in there, they’re part of my era projects—only wanted the era 0s. Sorry!

@Walywoohoo Most of them come from ***star sires, so basically all of them would fail… They’re all BA passed, but still too many pass.

You could run SBA if you have a premium account or you can comp test them against each other or better yet comp test them to a bench mark.

I did SBA on my era 0 mares out of *** parent(s), and kept only cap quality. I knew I had a lot though... If you think too many would fail, maybe just test a few? Or definitely sell if you prefer!

I don't think I have enough cap quality ones, but I'll try SBA on a few first!

It sounds like this has already been mentioned, but I would definitely comparison test or SBA and keep the best per those results.

If you still feel like you have too many you could go off of PT.
