Preview option for unrefundable/unaffordable genes
-
Id really like to be able to preview adding genes to our foundies and things like changing white factor and colors of a horse.
Its so hard planning out what i want to do with my foundies and even foals sometimes, when i cant see the end game just because i cant afford it, and some things are straight not refundable.
I love a foal who i made, who i may want to breeding cap, but im unsure what his markings would look like at all since he came with "none" white factor, and i would happily spend some GMTs to change it so i could see it, but i dont want to waste my GMTs either adding too much or too little white factor to get the right look.
Im also left trying to make a decent gene foundie project on my accounts while not knowing what i may want to pay to get put on them, or save to GMT on them, because while I like the genes, I am mainly going for a cute looking horse, and get attached to the look of some of the markings on said horse as it were,
So even if i added the genes i wanted, if they didn't look right I wouldn't want them.
Like also, lets say wanted a slightly darker horse, but didnt know if id prefer changing the color to a darker one, or if i wanted to use DPDP or other means to make it darker.
Id like a preview option so i could see what my horse's seed would make them look like with the different color or gene set, that way id know what i would like to save up for, or pay to get later.
Especially when purchasing genes with money, i think this would be useful, as i am fond of DP, Sb2, and other genes, but especially for the genes that involve white factor (like KP2, Sb1, Sb2, TO, LP, etc) but not limited to them, i wouldn't know exactly how my horse would look with them granted my horse's seed, and if i liked my horse before but not after id be stuck with the new look or regenerating the seed, with no real way to get to the look from before i purchased the gene.

I think a preview option would be extremely useful for everyone when planning gmt projects, or when seeking a horse that looks similar to something they want image wise.
It would be even more handy to the people new to GMTing, and the game in general, as it could help them learn genes in a more hand on way.If i missed a comment or two feel free to PM me

The image generator is unable to create previews. It's not something that is plausible for us to create or that we have any plans on adding to the game. Sorry but it's not feasible.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

Hmm, its shame there isnt a feasible way to have it go through with generating a new image but not allowing you to keep it or prompting you to top up in order to make said horse keep said genes.
But maybe then could you add the ability to refund changes to things like Height, color, or white factor (if they are not refundable at this current time)
And i would like to know if it could be made possible to refund genes placed on our horses with real money for in game GMTs in this case? (Since im assuming refunding the cash would be a hassle on both ends?)
Just so that if someone didnt like how the gene they spent money on added onto their horse that they wouldn't have wasted the cash. (Im aware image seed regen is a thing, but sometimes you may simply want a back button so to speak)If i missed a comment or two feel free to PM me

GMT lab edits for other things are already on the to-do list.
For cash refunds, it is simply not possible. There are credit card processing fees involved and someone has to pay those. It's a really bad business practice to be doing lots of payments and refunds, so that is something we would never offer but if you really. If you really dislike a gene edit just ask for help though and it can be moved to another horse for you. I have done that many times for members. :)Need to contact me? Read this first.

One thing to add, if you want a preview of what genes might look like, the search feature here is amazing for that. Just plug in exactly the genes you are looking for, and tell it not to show the ones you really don't want and you can usually get some great examples. You can also refine things such as white factor and height, etc.Thanked by 1DragonsDen

Ammit of course i didn't mean to refund the purchase in cash! That really is a silly way of doing it,
I only meant if we didnt like how it added to our horse could we go to the GMT lab and tap "refund" and have it give the amount of GMTs it would have taken to add it on?
Refunding the purchase in request of cash back would be a headache aside for everyone involved as i said, but a way to at least get the GMTs worth of the gene in cases like this may be an idea to look at or branch off of.
As for what Gryphon said, I know we could always look at other horses to see how the genes could look, but each horse's seed is different, so for things like paying hard cash to add the Kit M gene, looking at other horses can only give you an idea on what said gene could look like, not necessarily what it will look like for your particular horse.
It is nice to know that as of right now, we could at least move the gene to another horse at very least, this i was unaware of, so ty for letting me know amkit! If i missed a comment or two feel free to PM me
