November Guess Those Genetics!
-
It's back!
Once again, some of the studs got out, ran amok, and sowed their wild oats and now I have to figure out these babies and what they will carry! Can you pretty please help me out again? Yall did such a great job last time I know you can help me solve the mystery again!
Here's how the scoring will work!
Color name: 1 point for each correct name and 1 point extra if it is in the correct order as written on HaJ ***there are NO penalties for incorrect guesses
ex: a gray blue roan- if you type blue roan gray, you will get 3 points for having all three names but only 2 points extra because gray is not in the correct order for a total of 5 points out of 6 possible points.
Genome: 2 points for each correct set of alleles in correct order, 1 point for correct set of alleles but incorrect order, 1/2 point for 1 correct allele but missing other one (i.e. foal has 2 copies of flaxen but you wrote f/_) Pay attention carefully though- this is where you can lose points! If you miss a set of alleles the foal has (i.e. foal has 2 copy of flaxen and you didn't write at least f/_), 1/2 a point will be subtracted for every set of alleles the foal has but was not written in your guess.
White factor will be used as a tiebreaker so please include them in all your guesses!
This is an example of what I am looking for:
Name: TheBlueMoors
ID: 78
Foal 1: Gray Silver Amber Cream Champagne Roan Dun Splash Tobiano Frame Appaloosa Rabicano
genome: e/E a/A -/Cr -/D -/G -/Z -/Ch f/f -/Sty p/- R/TO -/SW1 -/LP O/- -/RB white factor: minimal
Foal 2: name here
genome: sequence here
Foal 3: name here
genome: sequence here
This contest will close to new entries November 28th and the winners will be announced November 30th.
Let's get warmed up!
Foal # 1

Oh my goodness how generous!
Question: will white factor be counted ONLY in case of a tie? For example, will I be deducted if I guess minimal WF, or only if needed as a tie breaker? -
That is a GREAT question!
It will only be used as a tie breaker in cases of overall scoring. If there is a tie, I will go back and look at the white factor entered for each horse. The closest to most correct on all 5 horses will add those bonus points and break the tie (so it is to your advantage if you fill in white factor on ALL your guesses because that just might be what gives you that extra point to win!)TheBlueMoors ID 78

So I’m still attempting to tally the scores- I do not have internet here at my new house and I’m doing my best on my mobile but because I want to be very sure I am getting everyone’s guesses correct, I am going to wait until tomorrow when I can get to a hotspot at a coffee shop to check the scores again before I release the winners.
Thank you everyone for your patience!TheBlueMoors ID 78

Thank you everyone for your patience! I have gone through and tallied the scores up then had an anonymous non member in real life verify my scores to make sure everything looked kosher.
A major congratulations to all who participated and thank you so much! I will be sending prizes ASAP (will reach out tomorrow afternoon via PM) and notifying prize donators for pick up/delivery of their prizes. I will post total scores but if you want a breakdown of how you did per foal, please feel free to contact me and I will gladly provide the breakdown!
Without further ado!
Congratulations to our winner, RamshornSPortHorses with 109.5 points.

Hold off on picking your colts. I'm not done testing this months pasture boys yet. I need about 20 more minutes. There is a really good one in there.
Edit: testing is done except for comparison. If you want me to do that, too, just let me know. -
