Need your feedback on the Traditional Cob
  • The hair is such a key part of this breed we are showing them with hair for feedback. But there is so much hair I am also giving you a mane-free version of the adult so you can see how it is built. Let us know what you think and if you think we need to change anything.

  • all I can say is TAKE MY MONEY.

In all reality though, the foal profile is excellent. The only quibble I might have is the sizing of the ears or perhaps the positioning maybe? It seems wonky on the foal's head size but I can't put my finger on if it is the sizing or how the ears are positioned/drawn? Maybe a little of both?

The adult profile is lovely and very cobby! I wouldn't mind seeing a stronger back versus more of a dip as drawn here- it seems to be lending to the illusion that the adult is built butt high and more so when the hair is "onboard".

That mane however is GLORIOUS and I am so so excited to put this one on my must have list when it comes out!

  • I agree with TheBlueMoors!

    1) Take my money
    2) The back is more dipped/ high butt than I'm used to seeing.
    3) The foals ears are drawn weird.
    4) Really want this BC.

I will also add the adults ears seem a little thin/pointy.
  • Absolutely obsessed but I do think the foals ears and head could use a little reworking!

  • The funny thing is we already fix up and corrected the foal's ears some. The baby we used has reference had the biggest ears I have ever seen on any horse. They where MASSIVE. This is the reduced size. :D

  • I would agree with the dip in the back on the adult appearing too low, and the ears on the foal looking too big.

If it were my artistic preference I would downsize the ears more, despite them matching the reference photo.

I did find a rabbit eared baby for the masses to oggle, just to satisfy my own curiosity:

This is almost making me want to breed heavy bones. I have been pretty strictly trying to stay away!

    Edited:
    Found another big eared cutie:

  • It looks like the ear opening is too far to the outside, making the ears look weird. I also agree that the adult's back is too low.
I have been thinking about drafts for my era 6 herd, and might just have to consider this bc. So cute!
  • Talk about having to grow into those ears bless!

  • I am loving this art @Ammit, I did post on bluegrass the change I would like to see in the head and neck area of the adult, the foal art to me looks good but I have only seen the horses at the horse shows that are in my area and never owned one. But I know what I like to see in a horse any breed for that matter, is a nice conformation with a nice throat latch which is the head not just stuck on the neck but a nice flowing into the neck area. You and your team are doing great job with the breed, this art will most likely be added to all 3 of my accounts lol. I love conformation poses in any horse art and you did that with this breed - Thank you @Ammit. P.S. I would like to see the eyes as well, maybe add the forelock to the other side of the head.
