We need to talk about the Akhal Teke
-
Like the quarter horse, the breed comes in a wide range of styles. I am guessing those who voted for the Akhal Teke are interested in the extremely light-boned versions but I want to be sure of that. The breed ranges from super light to a more warmblood/tb look. (Also I don't know the proper names for these looks, please share if you do!)
Type A
Type B
Type C
So please respond below with which of the types pictured above you are most interested in seeing and also why or what makes it attractive to you. It will help us a ton to figure out what you actually want to see in the game.
ETA: **Please just give feedback on the style and weight of the horse not the specific confirmation as that isn't relevant. Think of it like picking between a halter quarter horse, a foundation quarter horse, and a reining quarter horse. The specific horse is not the question but the type of horse is what maters here.Need to contact me? Read this first.

I would prefer Type A because it would be the most recognizable to me as an Akhal Teke horse.Ramshorn Ranch

Agree, Ram! I really like the first picture, as what I think of when I hear Akhal Teke.

I like A, but I do have a question. Akhal Tekes range in size from 14 and 16 hands, so are we going to have Akhal Teke horses and Akhal Teke ponies?

All BCs come in all heights and colors. Remember this is an art asset, not the actual breed.Need to contact me? Read this first.

I prefer A. It's what would first come to mind and I think it looks the most elegant. B just looks a little off to me and C looks too warmblood like. I really love the first picture in type A. That horse is goregous.DarkPhoenix #15470 (she/her) ~ Premium Upgrade

The original form of the breed is light and graceful, think Arabian crossed with a race style breed of horse. Figure A is the closest example of the original breedRideOutPro on forest/ RideOutStar mesa

As far as I know, like the Arabian, there was actually more variation in the breed the farther back you go.
This is Absent born in 1952 who is very much not anything like type a.
ETA: As I understand it the very narrow type is the modern variety that was championed after the Soviets took over and that they most decend from Boinou. They were originally war horses and a good deal heavier. Here is Kir-Sakar from 1936 and he is really rather heavy boned.

I *like* type C; I think that the last picture is a stunning and balanced horse :x but for the AT breed characteristics I'd still pick A ;)
