Recently my debit card expired. I went into PayPal and put in the new one, but now it looks like I am back to basic. Either that, or I hit the wrong button, both are entirely possible with my computer antiskills.

Your subscription is tied to a specific card via contract. You have to cancel it and create a new one. It can't change payment sources on an active sub. Part of the reason we are rebuilding our payment system this fall.Need to contact me? Read this first.

Okay, so I now have canceled my old card on PayPal and put a new card in its place I need to go back in and resubscribe to an upgrade?

You'll need to cancel your old subscription and then you can make a new one. Info is on your upgrade management page.
