GMT/ gene question
-
Hello Everyone,
Last night I used a couple GMT tokens on my stud Bad Royal Risk Belton. He had a few Tobi spots before but I wanted to increase the amount and have him be TO/TO instead of TO/W20 with minimal white factor. I had looked at other horses that were TO/TO and a white factor of Medium without any other patterns and they had by far more white. After changing the genes he has almost no white at all (just his socks and he doesn't show any Tobi patches either. What did I do wrong and am I just going to have to waste more GMT tokens to give him some chrome now? I loved him before but now he's seriously disappointing. Thanks for any info.

Can you link him?

I think SummerMonarch had this problem a few months ago... The belton reduced the white markings I think.

I’m not one to remember and focus on genes but it probably occurred with other genes on him that wasn’t causing anything before you GMT modified himAmberHaven300 (she/her)

Or basically what Waly said in a simpler way? KindaAmberHaven300 (she/her)

Do you think if I increased his white factor to Maximum he might turn out better?

To/To is less white than To/w20. w20 is a white booster. Hom belton also significantly reduces the amount of white. It does tell you it will do this on the GMT page. "It reduces the overall amount of white caused by pinto genes "
If you don't like your edits though you can refund them. White factor is the only one you can't refund.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

Thank you for your help. I refunded the W20 to TO and will leave him like that.

The GMT refund option is AWESOME for when we make edits that don't turn out quite like we hoped.Ramshorn Ranch

I did have this problem. I moved the white factor from non to medium and it wasn’t doing what I wanted, so I upped it to extensive and got what I wanted. It was an expensive lesson but I learned!

He's beautiful!
