Chimera

What's the deal with chimeras? Does it affect foals at all?

One factor is that foals can get genes from either set of the chimera's genes. So if you have one that is a chestnut on one set and a bay on the other, you have very different possibilities for the foals.
The other thing is that you can get chimera foals from chim parents.
Other than color genetics, there's no effect :) -
I think there is a very slim chance to get chimera foals from non-chimera parents as well. It can occur in nature as a random event when two embryos are combined early in development.
