Any Equus-Sims Players Here?
  • I’m still pretty new to this game, but I am loving it so much! I’ve played a lot of other horse browser games over the years going all the way back to early 2000’s Horseland. Of all the online games I’ve played, Equus-Sims (RIP) was the only other one that captured my interest as much as hunt and jump seems to have. It wasn’t really a browser game, but more of an online forum/rpg that used The Sims 3 as a way to create your stable and horses. I was so involved with that site and made many friends over the years — I was wondering if anyone on here also played Equus-Sims :)

Anyway, I hope that over time I can come out of my shell a little more here and make some new friends. All you hunt and jump folks seem so kind and inviting!
  • Mid-90s Horseland for me. :D

I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

  • OG horseland! I still remember the lavender background and gray horse default portrait like it was yesterday :D
  • The memories. (Horseland) :D I think my favorite part was making the pictures for my horses.
I've never even heard of Equus-Sims. I used to play RPGs (forum style) in late 90s, along with Horseland.
  • I wish I still had some of the photos I made, pretty sure I did them in MS Paint lol

Equus-Sins was very niche and I’m sure it could be easily mistaken just as a mod site for The Sims
  • I didn’t have time for Equus-Sims, plus my computer at the time could barely handle Sims 3, let alone modding it. XD
Wish it was still a thing because I’ve been playing Sims 2 and finally have a computer that can handle Sims 3 without lag.

I played HL in the 2000s, I remember the transition to the more cartoon-y site. I got pretty good at photo manip by playing that game. I picked the rarest breed on the site (there were so many!) and dominated by lack of competition. XD
  • No Equus for me, but I also played HL late 90's early 2000's and definitely remember that horrid cartoon transition. I was already not playing as often by that point, but that just sent me running to the hills.

I also loved doing pictures and that was my first introduction to html for my stable page (followed shortly after by Myspace :)) ) I remember have an auto-clicker installed to show horses and begging my parents to take me to "internet cafes" anytime we were on vacation so I could play!
  • I love how many of us were around back in the OG horseland days! I wish I still had some of my photo manips, they would be fun to go through haha
  • @MissKitty I think I would be horrified by the photo manips my 13yr old self did. :O :))
  • Omg me too and at the time I’m sure I was incredibly proud of them haha
  • I had a virtual stables for Sims 3. People would send me pictures of their real horses, and I created a sim horse for them. I had tons of custom content, which is what made my appaloosa's so fun. I was part of Equus Sims for a while. Wow, now this was a walk down memory lane for sure.

  • I lurked on some Equus Sims sites, but I definitely put a lot of time into OG Horseland. Scratching the HL itch is what brought me here :D
