Which should I keep

I have 119 horses and am trying to decide which ones to keep and which ones that I should get rid of. Does anyone have a good way to do this? Should I keep by color or rating or what? I want to keep the best and weed out the rest.

The best part of this game is that that choice is up to you! Do you prioritize color over points? How much does consistency matter to you?
A basic rule of thumb is to prioritize points and PT in your spayed and gelded horses because they will make better show horses (make you the $$). Then you can prioritize looks and genes in your breeding pool, but at the end of the day, it is completely up to you! :)Thanked by 1ConfluenceRanch -

Many folks choose to have a focus for their breeding horses. Like having certain genes or colors that they are shooting for. So that helps them weed out the horses that don't match that goal.Ramshorn Ranch

Keep all of them, if you have room to do so. Everyone sorts their barn a little differently from the next player. However having a show herd (or string) is definitely very beneficial, and helps you hbs. In turn (and time) hbs help you buy barns among other things. When I first started breeding was definitely a fun factor of this game however I constantly ran out of hb. I traded for hbs in different ways to keep playing and then I gave in and dedicated my time to build a show herd. And I have only been playing since Feb (i think) and I have a decent daily show bonus. And I'm still building my show herd, to get a bigger daily show bonus. I currently keep almost everything I breed or create.
If you don't have room keep high pointed horses and go from there. Just my thoughts
