Anyone else this excited?
-
I cannot wait to breed this month. My 2nd generation mares are finally 4 years old. Yeah! Yes, I am a true newbie who is loving this game.
Anyone else breeding their first foal crop of 2nd generations, or who might have other reasons to be excited?Forest Server - Chapel Hill Farm. ID# 54714 (Basic account)

I'm excited for this breeding season, but it's mostly because I am looking forward to having more data for my chimera project. lol. I started a spreadsheet this year to see if there is any way to encourage chimera foals. Officially it is pretty much random, but we all know nothing man made is truly random.
I have a google doc for it if anyone would like to follow the numbers with me.

“Oh, you can’t help that,” said the Cat: “we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”
“How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice.

Im stoked! For second gen ans first gen with fantasy genes! Cannot wait!

@Vorpalalice Nice spreadsheet! I'm gunning for chimeras as one of my projects as well, and my numbers seem fairly similar to yours. I did around 300 breedings in February using chimera studs and ended up with six or so chimera foals, about half would have definitely failed SBA if I had been stern enough with myself to test them. Not a sure bet by any means, but it sure is fun when they do appear!

@RipleySprings Are you also using chimera mares? Or just chimera studs? I'm curious how much the mare effects odds.“But I don’t want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.

@Vorpalalice I bred 45 chimera mares with chimera stallions in March, however the six chimera foals I got were produced from chimera stallion and non-chimera mare pairings. I did not keep track of February breedings, but the one chimera foal I do have from that season was the result of two chimera parents. I had far less HB and chimera breeders then, so the numbers would not be comparable at all. I did not use straws or any other method to get extra breedings out of my stock in either season.
This stallion managed to sire a chimera foal in February AND March:
