What does this mean?

yrs Era: 1 Gold Champagne Warmblood mare Level 1 J with 179.0 points. The Level 1J is what I'm not understanding. I see horses with different levels and numbers. What are they and how do you know what they represent? Thank you for any help anyone can give me.

If you go to the Basic Information for new players thread that is at the top of the forum, there is an explanation about midway down the page titled Showing Levels, here: https://mesa.huntandjump.com/forum/index.php?p=/discussion/4/basic-information-for-new-players#Item_15.
It is also in the FAQ here: https://mesa.huntandjump.com/faq.php#826
I think the J may be a left over from when we would set each horse as either a hunter or a jumper. If you post a link to the horses page we could tell you more.

I see it in the sooty champagne page on my horse but not her profile page but the hunter jumper makes sense as on one horse it says 1 H where mine says 1 J. It would indicate that horse would do better in the hunter categories or the jumping events. I tried to read up anywhere that I could to explain it before asking. Thank you for your response and time.
