Foals in pasture questions
-
Should I force breed my pastures or wait until they auto breed on the 14th? Pros and cons please!
Should I take my foals out immediately after they are born or leave them for the remainder of the month and take them out before they are sold back to the game.
Thank you for your advice in advance! -
Mares accrue a "bonus" for being left in the pasture (max of 30 days). If your mares have not yet hit their 30+ day bonus, I would wait. You can either let them auto-breed or pull the stallions out and prevent them from breeding until the end of the month (as long as your don't forget!
It doesn't matter what you do with your foals. I always pull them out right away so that they aren't forgotten or deleted at the end of the month. I can also then "show" them but foals aren't much of a money maker so that isn't really an incentive -
What does the "bonus" affect?
-
@DragonHeart The bonus affects foal quality. The longer the mare stays in the pasture the better her foal has the potential to be.
-
Better at what? PT? Papers are purely determined by genetics correct.
-
A foal could have a higher breeding ability (which is measured by paper level) or a higher showing ability (measured by PT score) or if your lucky, both.
Keep in mind all foals are still born on "range" which means they can still be worse or as good as their parents even with the bonus, it's just less likely. -
Ty everyone you have been super helpful!
