Do horses die in this game?

Hi new player here, I wasn’t sure so I figured I’d ask do horses die in this game? Either if you don’t log in or just from old age?

Horses after the age of 17 have a small chance of dying each month from old age. Your horses will never die because of not logging in, though they can get so old that they pass away even if you haven't logged in.Need to contact me? Read this first.
